Berk 09-18-2006 08:50 PM

Drumming DOES get you chicks.

Maggot Dream 09-18-2006 08:50 PM

Yeah, I'm not too sure about that decision, but I'll see the movie anyway. The Who are my favorite band, and I'm really pissed off I can't go to their concert this November. I'll definitely catch them next time around. I can't be too worried, as I've seen them once before.

EDIT: To [your name here]

Seafroggys 09-18-2006 08:54 PM

just to piss you off, I'm gonna see the Who on the 12th :D

i see no one comments on my sad, sad, tale.

We_Love_Lime 09-18-2006 08:55 PM

Uhm..

I'm sorry Seafroggys.
That's rather sucky.

Sorry seafroggys. I couldn't type a consolation because my keyboard was flooded with tears.

Win A Rabbit 09-18-2006 08:58 PM

So I read a while back that Senses Fail were coming out with a new cd, and that it was going to be way different, etc, with a bunch of different time sigs and structures and whatnot.

I thought I'd give it a chance. They've got 2 new songs on their Purevolume, and of course, it's the EXACT same as their old stuff.

I hate when bands say they're using a bunch of odd time sigs and structures, then when the cd comes out, they've got 1 song in 3/4, and one song where there's no second verse. Especially when they say "The new record is different from everything we've done before."

Damn you....I was about to buy my ticket when I was told I have a mandatory retreat through school (as in, not going = not graduating) that falls over the 14th, the day of the show.

Have you seen them before?

i'm not sure if it was townshend or somebody else, but they said that the austin powers character always reminded them of moon

no.....i was 10 the last time they came around (my parents went) when they did they Quadrophenia tour in 1997.

Maggot Dream 09-18-2006 09:38 PM

Ah man, it was probably the best concert I've ever been to. My only complaint is that I liked Pete's tone better when he was using the old Gibson SGs and HiWatt amps. His chops have improved immensely since those years though.

You mean the Tommy era?

We try.

Maggot Dream 09-18-2006 09:57 PM
You mean the Tommy era?
Yeah, pretty much. His playing always sounded so full and 'hit-you-in-the-face' awesome back then. Not to say the Who's Next or the Quad period was bad by any stretch, but I've always thought of the Tommy era as his definitive time. His playing on Quadrophenia was obviously more technically advanced though.

Futuro 09-18-2006 10:43 PM

Anyone like the Scissor Sisters?

Yeah me neither.

Sync0pation 09-18-2006 10:46 PM
Anyone like the Scissor Sisters?

I think it would be "neither"

Cheers :chug:

Scissor sisters sounds painful:naughty:

:smash:

Ok good night everyone :smoke:

Win A Rabbit 09-18-2006 10:51 PM

I just found out some disheartening news. Nothing's confirmed, but it's still a bit sad, for me atleast. So that kinda sucks.

But I finally fixed my snare drum. It's been out of comission for a couple months, I decided to throw it back together.

Maggot Dream 09-18-2006 10:57 PM
Anyone like the Scissor Sisters?

God, they made that incredibly blasphemous cover of Comfortably Numb. I mean, I'm all for unconventional covers if you can really add something great to the song, but damn, did that version suck.

ofDooM 09-18-2006 11:07 PM

Brokensticks 09-18-2006 11:28 PM

Thats weird..... To say the least.

Electric Requiem 09-18-2006 11:49 PM

Whos Next is my fav Who album.

PT's old drummer has alot more chops then I thought, especially on Coma Divines version of Dislocated Day.

you're probably dieing. i wouldn't sleep if i were you. you may never wake up.

let us know if you make it through the night

_R2D2_ 09-18-2006 11:50 PM

sometimes my left eye gets sore like that too. it just randomly hurts to move it.

Corkofski 09-19-2006 01:27 AM

i have a fatty deposit on my left eye, if i go into an area of low pressure or get tired it can swell up and be really uncomfortable.

i went to the hospital with it, and apparently atm it poses no risk to my sight, but if i had it removed it could cause scar tissue to grow across my iris.
guess which one im choosing....

Josiah 09-19-2006 01:29 AM

Hmm sorry to say man.

But that just means you haven't either

A. Seen the right kind of eye surgeon to perform the operation without that issue

or

B. Can not afford A.

derryk 09-19-2006 01:30 AM

Anyone ever heard of drive by punch? edmonton based band. i've decided i like them.

on another note, voltaire was an interesting man.

Corkofski 09-19-2006 01:52 AM

we have the NHS jos. you get what you can. and it goes right up to the edge of the iris, so im inclined to agree...
