Thats my personal favorite Jeff Beck, the only decent one I could find off the internet. Poor guy doesn't get enough photo's.
I think I'm gonna stick with the current one. We'll see how it works out.

Jacaranda 11-25-2005 10:50 PM

Whoa, your avatar reminds me of Randy Rhoads, they sorta look alike, if only Randy had darker hair.

Everyone on this page has a guitarist as their avatar minus Krabsman and DMV.

Bored++++

Everyone's avatar looks like that.

I see the resemblance (if you're talking to me).

thickasabrick 11-25-2005 10:53 PM

Dark Star is sooooo fabulous.

I wanna listen to that 13th Floor Elevators album, but I just started Dark Star a few minutes ago....so I've got quite the wait ahead of me. Not that I'm complaining.

You may wanna re-think that statement now! :D

I probably have the only avatar in the thread that isn't even music related, not including the people who are going through identity crisis's and change their avatars like four times a day.

edit - Oh woops....hahah...I'm not even on the same page. Nevermind.

JonG 11-25-2005 10:54 PM

Spat Out Plaths does to me also. Except it's not a white LP. It reminds me of it.

Which version are you listening to?

For some reason I really dig the lyrics in Dark Star, even though they are simple and ver short.

"Daaaaaaaaaark star crashes...."

thickasabrick 11-25-2005 10:57 PM

Live/Dead. I just realized how amazing most of the Grateful Deads lyrics are the other day....I always just listened to the music mainly and didn't pay too much attention to the lyrics. They are amazing!

edit - I just decided to try drinking that V8 (tomato juice stuff) for the first time in like ten years......I like it!!! I always just assumed that I hated it....

JonG 11-25-2005 11:07 PM

Yuck. V8.

I don't have a guitarist. I have a bassist; and a hell of a good bassist at that.

Although I play guitar :/. I like Geddy for his singing, bass, lyrics (the few songs that he writes for Rush) and Moog playing.

Krabsworth 11-25-2005 11:18 PM

You are seriously afraid of the government?

JonG 11-25-2005 11:18 PM

Alright, I'll send that out.

Also, Magic Sam - West Side Soul is awesome. So good.

Jacaranda 11-25-2005 11:19 PM

I said on that last page guys! Jesh, not in the whole thread.

Funny, I was just watching Rush video's today and creaming over Geddy's playing. I think I was watching some sort of Alex solo.

My Back Pages by the Byrds is such an awesome song. I can't find my Bob Dylan version right now though...

JonG 11-25-2005 11:29 PM

It's on "Another Side of Bob Dylan".

Shit, don't have that one, I could've sworn it was on Freewheelin'.

Krabsworth 11-25-2005 11:40 PM

Omg, I can't stop listening to Casey Jones

Seafroggys 11-25-2005 11:42 PM

well I've listened to Tommy now, and all I can say is.....wow.

My question now is....how many live Tommy stuff is out there? I've seen the stuff from TKAA (which is better then the studio versions, IMO, especially Sparks), but I want to see more.

jpj 11-26-2005 12:19 AM

They play a lot of it one the 2 disc version of Live at Leeds and they just released a DVD with performances of Tommy and Quadrophenia.

Seafroggys 11-26-2005 12:35 AM

yeah i know about that dvd, but i'd be nice if i can find one of the original versions, just for the fact that they were 20 years younger and they had moon.
Omg, I can't stop listening to Casey Jones
Me either.

"Drivin' that train, high on cocain..."

JonG 11-26-2005 12:45 AM

They weren't even on coke at the time.

Atleast I think..

Wow, I'm trying to tab out "Gold and Silver" by ear. It is a fucking bitch.

I did that awhile back, but just the main riff cause I suck at actually tabbing. I might still have it...

The Live at Leeds Deluxe Edition has a full live show of Tommy, and so does the Isle of White show.

:D

Is there any live Quadrophenia stuff? That album is amazing.

Lunch 11-26-2005 10:14 AM

Seafroggys - Like the others have said, the play it almost the whole way through on the Live at Leeds Deluxe Edition and the play a good amount of it on the Isle of Wight recording.

For the most part I think any live Quadrophenia material (as performed by the original Who) is on bootlegs.

magicbus 11-26-2005 01:26 PM

I had a dream that I got to meet Jeff Beck. Cool avatars all around++

Krabsworth 11-26-2005 01:32 PM

Me and my teacher are going to be playing some cool Beatles numbers down a coffee house next week. I think we are doing And I Love Her, If I Fell, Yesterday, and Michelle.
