It must have been your Steve Avatar, it made me think of Sergeant Major Harris.

Journeyman, it's a good song I like it. I just want to know what Bruce whispers mid song...it's so annoying

the_uber_penguin 03-07-2005 03:56 PM

I know that Eddie came from a Mask one of the Band members found and that he was named by a joke that was told but does anyone know what that joke is?

ashman 03-08-2005 05:38 AM
I know that Eddie came from a Mask one of the Band members found and that he was named by a joke that was told but does anyone know what that joke is?
There was a baby who was called Eddie, who only had a head an no body. And his parents thought that for his 5th birthday, they would get him a body. So on his 5th birthday they said to him that they had a surprise for him, and he said "Oh no, not another fucking hat"

I can't remember how it's originally worded, but it's to that effect :thumb:

rippa32 03-08-2005 05:50 AM

Not a bad joke really.

It's terrible, I think Dave does it much better on Early Days.

Josh 03-08-2005 04:16 PM
Right.... I hate Religion in general, am i gonna be banned now?!
 only if you get reported. and on religion, nicko is a devout christian...strange considering he was one of the devils in NOTB video

Det_Nosnip 03-08-2005 05:05 PM

^^ Catholic, I believe.

thelittledrummerboy 03-08-2005 07:25 PM

Who wrote the drum music for some of their earlier songs such as wrathchild, Santuary and Iron Maiden? Was It Doug Sampson or Some of the guys before him. I thought Clive was there very first drummer till i saw the early days.

And also, why don't people like "The thin line" that much? I think it's one of the best songs on that album along with Wickerman, Blood Brothers And Out Of The Silent Planet. I learnt to play the chorus to Out of the silent planet the other day which sound awesome.

rippa32 03-09-2005 05:19 AM

What is Early Days? And to the christian argument why did stevie get banned for expressing his opinion but the christian didn't?

ArcLite 03-09-2005 05:22 AM
What is Early Days? And to the christian argument why did stevie get banned for expressing his opinion but the christian didn't?
Because Stevie was completely offensive and insulting while voicing his opinion.

I love the thin line... 2nd best song on that album IMO. Nice and dramatic.

The History Of Iron Maiden Part 1: The Early Days is a dvd that was released in December 2004. It's a two disc set, and features various bits and bobs from Maiden's past, from it's inception through to 1983's Piece Of Mind album. The main focus of the dvd is 'Early Days', a 90 minute documentary which is ultimately a re-done '12 Wasted Years', which in itself was a 1988 documentary about Maiden, and one which I feel to be superior to the Early Days documentary. Also included on the 2-disc set is live footage from 1981 (Live At The Rainbow), 1983 (Beast Over Hammersmith) and 1983 (the Dortmund gig from the World Piece tour). It also features a rare 1980 video recorded at the Ruskin Arms, a small pub where Maiden gigged frequently before it was famous. Other bonuses included an editon of 20th Century Box, an 80's TV program, about Iron Maiden and the growing Metal scene of the 80's, pictures, steve's diary, some music videos and more.

Get it, it's pretty good. But get 12 Wasted Years too, if you can track it down.

Lord Abortion 03-09-2005 08:23 AM

not much of a thin line fan to be honest
my worst song off BNW probably with the nomad whih is far too long and overblown IMO

hard luck stevie... banned for an opinion
