Quality varies widely between the entries, too, so wherever possible pay attention closely to the compositional aspect. :)

Streaming would be a good idea.
Yep. I'd say yours, mine, berners and mishas take the cake in terms of quality.

misha...that might have been the other one that I was remembering.

Did you see my compliment above? :)

Ramsey 05-08-2005 12:32 AM
Everyone vote for me!!! :D

Although I do have stiff competition from lateski. His song is ****in' great. And there was another one I listened to earlier today with an amazing Morningrise-style acoustic bit in the middle, it made me **** myself. I'm lovin' a lot of those entries.

Ramsey, your entry is one of your finest compositional moments. 'Tis also a great use of the POD's versatility, you sure put it to good use on it.
Thank you so much :D :D :D

i used the metal packs on them, which is:
Only question: what are "metal packs?" Some new thing for the POD that I haven't heard about, or something that comes with the XT that I don't have as it's a Version 2.0?
Well I used the "model" packs, which include the metal packs

Its basically a new set of effects, amps and a bunch of stuff that upgrades your pod (you download them) and just use them in guitarport like you would.

The thing is, these metal packs are TOTALLY ****ing worth it. If you listen to thisfilters song (misha) he is using them. I also use them on my song. They are COMPELTLY worth it if those songs are any indication.

I'm not sure if you can upgrade a POD 2.0 though, you'll need to check their site

Sounds cool. The amp mods for the Rectified 2 are kind of weak. Although the tone I got sounds pretty good to me. :)

Ramsey 05-08-2005 12:38 AM

I forgot to add, the Model packs, all three of them are for a 100$

its worth it when you consider that 1 of them is for 50$

GurS 05-08-2005 07:50 AM

morning ya'll

so, yesterday me and some mates where gonna hi-jack a boat and row it across a private lake, but there was a guy there so, after half an hour of walking sneakily through bushes and brambles etc, we had to leg it back up the path and jump over the fence, or else we would have been arrested for tresspassing.

we'll try again next week. boats are cool, you see

Ahem...mx... :p

Seriously though, do you only have to pay once for a membership? Or is it like a monthly fee type deal? I've been wanting to sign up forever.

Yep. Its a 10 buck fee and you pay it once. Entirely worth it. I would never pay it monthly if that were the case.

Alright sweet. I'll probably get an account when I go to college in the fall.

Firecracker 05-08-2005 09:08 AM

I spent £17.97 on cds yesterday! :o

Bartender 05-08-2005 09:11 AM

What did you get?

Firecracker 05-08-2005 09:16 AM

Queensryche - Operation:LIVEcrime £3.99
Dream Theater - Awake £6.99
The Used - Self-Titled £6.99

They're quite cool.

munky_magik 05-08-2005 09:18 AM

Awake has some good songs, and some not good songs. That's a pretty good price for it, though.

Firecracker 05-08-2005 09:20 AM

I would have got a different one if they had it, but it was a good price so i got it.
The Queensryche cd is ace though. And considering it was at such a stupidly cheap price.

Mazeppa 05-08-2005 09:26 AM

Speaking of cheap CDs, I got a Mozart CD on Ebay yesterday for £0.01. Pretty good huh?

NP:Mozart-Symphony No. 40

munky_magik 05-08-2005 09:28 AM

I got 10 for about £3.99, I think. I really adore Fopp :)

I usually go for price as well. And I wouldn't know, I haven't heard any Queensryche.

Mazeppa 05-08-2005 09:35 AM

Fopp?

munky_magik 05-08-2005 09:37 AM
Fopp?
A Cd/book/DVD store. Usually has hundreds of great albums for £5.00. Possibly the best shop ever.

Bartender 05-08-2005 09:38 AM

Would you happen to know if there's a Fopp in Glasgow?

Mazeppa 05-08-2005 09:41 AM

If it's a chain store there should be one in London, although I don't recall ever going to or seeing one.

munky_magik 05-08-2005 09:48 AM
Would you happen to know if there's a Fopp in Glasgow?
There is. It is altogether bigger and more bad ass than either of the one's in Edinburgh. Actually, tehre's two in Glasgow as well. Byres Road, and Union Street.
If it's a chain store there should be one in London, although I don't recall ever going to or seeing one.
I'm pretty sure there is one in London, but then again, London is a rather large place.
Apparently it is at covent Garden.

munky_magik 05-08-2005 09:52 AM
I see. What time does it close?
Byres Road: Mon - Sat 8pm
Union Street: Mon - Sat 6pm, except Thursday 7pm.

Bartender 05-08-2005 09:54 AM

Which one of those is closest to "Sauchiehall(?) Street" ?
