There appears to be a new thread for this, I've posted some questions there:

Thanks, I was thinking along the lines of Sabian or Zildjian, $250 to 300 is about my price cap. From what I could find, the Zildjian As and A customs seemed like the best choices, but I thought a second opinion couldn't hurt. Thanks a lot...

My Cymbal
Can anyone suggest me a cymbal? My current preferred specifications would be the thinner the better, (though I understand durability might be a problem, and that applies both to Thickness & Taper); the flatter the better; Cast, would be equal to or more than B20; bell size is whatever, but I want as little over & undertones as possible, the darker sounding the better, non-washy, fairly dry, but no so much that it becomes air-ily washy/over-dry/, and vintage sound is a plus. Any help is great, Thanks!

BAM! Epic thread bump with a reply from the dormant OP!!!
Try some HHX/Hand Hammered cymbals, maybe the Studio or evolution ride. K Customs, Artisans etc... Get out there and tap some rides around. |
+1 for an HH, I would suggest trying the 21" Raw Bell Dry ride, it's fairly popular so most shops will have one you can test, which is the best way anyhow. Dry, dark, vintage sound at it's finest. It's also fairly solid, but not at the loss of response.
