Check out the Kodan Armada video on youtube, it is sick. "No has never had 3letters" is the song in the video.

deadohiosky9 02-06-2006 09:49 PM

i liked the poem, it has some good imagery, decent flow. the last lines sum up the poem well, and are pretty good. i don't really see any areas where you could improve, it looks fine to me.

and for the dude who wanted some darker "screamo", i'd check out In Tongues. they have a darker sound, they are also ex kodan armada (and 100X better than the kodan armada). Gospel also have that dark and moody sound.

Wow 02-06-2006 09:51 PM

True that on In Tongues.

deadohiosky9 02-06-2006 09:52 PM

oh yeah the khayembii communique are pretty dark lyrically.

And musically. :p

Ugh this is getting ridiculous. I jumped into the genre so quick and now I'm trying to listen to the essentials and now I hear about these bands that sound so awesome and bands that came from other bands that I love ie Kodan Armada.
cheeto, when and how would I listen to your radio show? Mine is tomorrow night from 8-9 EST.
uhh, mine's school only kind of thing. I can get a tape though.

How can I listen to yours?
I'm pissed off at myself for not being able to write a good poem for the first assignment for my new poetry class. Would any of you mind reading it and commenting on areas where I could improve and how you feel about how the phrasings are.

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=441964
It is pretty good D. The imagery is dark and earthy and pessimistic in general. Ends on a dark and brooding note. I enjoyed that. I like the phrasing though the alliteration seems to focus on a particular sound throughout the entire poem rather than various ones, but that is just a personal preference.

hey Wow, add me to your file list.

Kwash2 02-07-2006 04:52 PM

So, if I want to post my band's new recordings, can I do that in Hardcore/Emo? We fit, we're metalcore (ACTUAL metalcore, don't worry), and we've been compared to like 7 Angels 7 Plagues and stuff, just to give you an idea.

srt-4 02-08-2006 10:08 PM

so i downloaded on the might of princes "where you are and where you want to be". the first track is absolutely amazing, i've listened to it like 20 times. second track great. third track good. then i loose interest and want to go back and listen to track one again, haha. do i just need to give it more listens, or are those the best of the cd?

Wow 02-08-2006 10:20 PM

Every song on that album is amazing, especially "If I Knew Numbers."

i like the water vs the anchor better, but ya, i like that one too. but after that track i loose interest. i'll just resist the urge to skip back to the beginning and see if the rest of the tracks grow on me after a few more listens.

RetiredAt21 02-08-2006 10:53 PM

I want to hear this stuff.

deadohiosky9 02-08-2006 10:55 PM

that album is amazing. get Sirens too.
that album is amazing. get Sirens too.
i actually downloaded that one too, but i decided to try where you are.. first.

the only free time i have to really just listen to music is in my car commuting to school and back. but i'm going to need to listen to it at home, as the recording quality isn't the best (or i downloaded a bad copy) and its hard to make out sometimes with the road noise and ac on or windows down.

Sep 02-09-2006 03:09 AM

On Soulseek I found that OTMOP have a third full-length as well.

RetiredAt21 02-09-2006 11:42 AM

Otmop?

deadohiosky9 02-09-2006 04:17 PM
On Soulseek I found that OTMOP have a third full-length as well.
whoa they do???

cbmartinez 02-09-2006 04:21 PM

I don't think so? They have an EP I think? Or maybe it was one of their side projects like Disappearer or something mislabeled?

deadohiosky9 02-09-2006 04:25 PM

no their full lengths are Making of a Conversation, Where you are..., and Sirens. they also did some splits.

cbmartinez 02-09-2006 04:26 PM

Never heard of Making A... Sirens pwns them all.

Wow 02-09-2006 04:28 PM

I like Where You Are a lot more than Sirens, but we already got into this before. Or maybe that was Ben.

cbmartinez 02-09-2006 04:33 PM

Nah, we talked about it. Don't matter though, OTMOP slays.

cbmartinez 02-09-2006 04:37 PM

Even my radical guitar teacher who's like 40 and listens to all classic rock digs OTMOP because one of his students asked him to tab some shit for him. He's always like "OTMOP use some crazy fucking chords!" He taught me how to play "No Sign Of The Messiah (Part 1)" which is one of my favorite songs ever.

deadohiosky9 02-09-2006 04:48 PM

the lead in Jane Doe slays all.

cbmartinez 02-09-2006 04:50 PM

This is true.

cbmartinez 02-09-2006 05:11 PM

I only know the 1st guitar part, the really simple riff. Here, I'll just put it here:

E|--0-0-0-0---0---0-0-0-
B|-5-5-8-8-12-12-7-7---

If you want, I'll find out the 2ng guitar part.
