More is such a fantastic album, especially the first side of the tape (tape lol) with Cirrus Minor and Nile Song and Cymbaline and Up The Khyber. Great stuff.

I don't like "mother" at all. The wall for me is a very average album.

I also think sheep is easily the worst osng on animals, and don't get what people see in it.

My favourite floyd songs are probably pigs (3do), a saucerful of secrets, shine on (full song) and maybe echoes, i dunno. i haven't listened to echoes in a while.

Last night I heard [i]The Nile Song[/i] for the first time... that's an awesome song!

I also heard [i]Vegetable Man[/i] and [i]Take Thy Last Scream[/i], both awesome Syd songs.

Floyd is awesome to relax to, especially Wish You Were Here.

Keep Talking is my favorite song on TDB. The lyrics may be meh, but the flow of the song is just so cool.

Yes, Wish You Were Here is a good chilax album. Same with darkside. Not so much The Wall though.

It's interesting that so many people relax to Dark Side of the Moon, when it's about a person going insane. The plot doesn't seem like something to relax to.

I've known about pink floyd my whole life.. but didnt REALLY get into until about 3 or 4 years ago..

I'm kinda interested in their older stuff a little more.. anyone have an opinion on obscured by clouds, or Atom Heart Mother?

Obscured By Clouds is great, I think. Very underrated. Atom Heart Mother is interesting to say the least, sometimes a bit too experimental, but still good.

Yes, while it is about insanity and has some pretty dark content, Floyd did all of this in a very soft, beautiful easy listening way ;)

Once I fully understood the plot (some thanks to the lyrical analysis in this thread), I could never relax to it.

Don't even listen to the words.

Listen to the composition and the music and it really helps you relax.

Animals is a great album.... Pink Floyd at their peak. Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall are the best Pink Floyd albums. :cool:

Yeah Wish you were here is the first one I heard, and my personal favorite.

But PATGOD, DSoTM, and Animals are definately amazing..

The Wall is pretty good too. I'm just a little.. "used" to it..

Yea that sums it up. Atom Heart Mother is pretty good, but doesn't compare with any of their best stuff. And Keep Talking is my least favorite song on Pulse. I haven't heard the studio version though.

actually i got the album from the library.....the only song that has credits on it by syd is jugband blues
