I thought that was funny too
after this post i will change my name and disappear forever...but how do we know its not true. So far ive seen two messages on two websites suggesting the same thing.
They're all just playing off the whole Head leaving for religion thing. Besides, toolshed.down.net is known for April fool's jokes now, and we all knew Blair would do one.
Yeah, i'm also pretty sure Maynard plays guitar on Triad...he did when i saw them live two yrs. ago.
That live video of Triad has a bunch of people playing on stage. Kinda ruins the illusion that Adam is creating all them noises.

And during Reflection, I notice there is one part where Adam is constantly switching between two pedals. Im going to discver why and what effect they have on his tone during those points

IvortheEngineDriver 04-05-2005 10:39 AM

So...when the new album comes out, will there be a tour in the summer or will it be a spring of 06 thing?

the2stranger 04-05-2005 10:50 AM

maybe some winter/ autumn touring?
they won't play any festivals I thibk, so I think a tour late in the year is quite well possible

Maynard has not quit Tool, as I suspected.

And Adam plays the synth parts in Reflection as well as the guitar line. How he does it, I don't know, but I'd love to be able to reproduce it myself.

the2stranger 04-05-2005 11:01 AM

Adam?

I thought Justin Played all the synth parts, since he already uses synth effects on his bass.
and Bass and synth just seems right ( geddy lee)

The JoZ 04-05-2005 11:03 AM

No, Adam does. I don't know how though.

the2stranger 04-05-2005 11:06 AM

sometimes I wonder how Geddy does his stuff at the same time too.
those guys are just to great for me to comprehend, I will just take a backseat and enjoy the music :)

I do hope there are more synth parts, Lateralus was pretty filled with some, but even more would be even better

The JoZ 04-05-2005 11:11 AM

I sometimes wish Tool had an active keyboard player. It'd be cool to hear more synth stuff, even if it's just for atmosphere or ambience or stuff.

That being said, Justin and Adam do know how to create wicked synth sounds on their respective guitars

Rothmans 04-05-2005 11:12 AM
I've seen several live videos of Schism and never once did Maynard have a guitar.
On the oklohoma vid it seems he is playin guitar or bass or sitar

Adam Jones is GOD 04-05-2005 11:14 AM

On a side note, the 'Get Ben to buy Opeth CDs' campaign worked today. I picke dup Blackwater Park and Still Life for under £15.

Only listened to the first so far, but best moments in first listen

Bleak (vocal melody  )
The Drapery Falls
Blackwater Park (its so deliciously evil)

They are stand out moments from first listen. And I never take it all in first time, so it looks promising so far.

I personnaly think Still life is better. Harvest is the bst song on BWP IMO or the first song.

There is no sitar in Schism.

I have yet to listen to Still Life. i have a major headache today, so im not really in a music mood. But i've heard its the best. (hell, even Iai likes it, and he doesnt like any R&M :p )

It is the best album but everyone loves BWP for some reason Still Life is amazing (but im not a big opeth fan they kinda base themselves on the same formula IMO)

clearvision 04-05-2005 11:27 AM

dirge for novembers lead lick is cum-worthy.

Well you just put me off that song forever.

Trouble is with listening to an album on an MP3 player for the first time, its hard to keep track of what track is what.

clearvision 04-05-2005 11:34 AM

 Does anyone know where to find some MP3 tool backing tracks? I'm bored and wanna record some covers, the patient would be good, and sober...

Yeah but sometimes you know when the song is over but they are like an album band anyway

Adam Jones is GOD 04-05-2005 11:39 AM

I've never seen any tool backing tracks around. Just get JoZ and SFK to lay down the bass and drums for you. Im sure they would like to help all us guitarists out by doing so.

(Just realising how cool it would be to jam with them two)

clearvision 04-05-2005 11:40 AM

^Amen...then we find out Kage is a master at maynard impression

Adam Jones is GOD 04-05-2005 11:42 AM

Kage has a lot to live up to then, best get those electronic implants. Tool can work with two guitarists I always think.

I am up for doing it, but if I don't know the song fully, it might take me a short amount of time to learn it, cause as may come to a surprise, I don't know *every* Tool song, just most :D

clearvision 04-05-2005 11:47 AM

 It's a shame there's probably 50 that have posted here, i say the two with the highest amount of posts gets the positions hehehe...

That would be soopa cool if people started doing recordings and then mixing them with other peoples and making backing tracks etc...

Adam Jones is GOD 04-05-2005 11:49 AM

I've been trying to record stuff for yonks, and now that im making progress with software, my soundcard dies.

And we all know that High postcount = Better playing ability :p

Daven 04-05-2005 11:50 AM

that sucks

clearvision 04-05-2005 11:51 AM

^ Better get posting :p

:p

Either way, I could definetly do some stuff for people, but I really think I should do it when I bring my amp back home, instead of direct in, it will sound better, hopefully...
