I like alot of music, I just choose to express my dislikes more than my likes.
That's not heathy ya know? You should for the most part focus on what you enjoy not the things you hate.
That was a little harsh
Well, I'm not a pie made of shit. |
That's not heathy ya know? You should for the most part focus on what you enjoy not the things you hate.
Not on the internets I really don't see what is so great about Bob Marley, I was listening to Catch A Fire, but couldn't stand it, thanks for sending it out whoever did though. |

Take it from me, no one likes it when some asshole only pops in to talk about how much Band X sucks. |

Their loss. |
Their loss.
I'm sure  |
Their loss.
You know the first time you posted in this thread I gave you negative rep. Why? You just popped in and said something along the lines of "Jefferson Airplane are just a bunch of phony hippies." I don't like Jefferson Airplane but the fact that you gave no explanation as to why you would say such a thing made me think you deserved neg rep. Now you've been a good user since but you still need alot to work on....no one wants to hear why you don't like a certain band, like Illmatic said. |
Hey I have a opinion that no one else has, please flame me.
|
No one is flaming you for having a different opinion; what we don't like is how without fail you only post to bash whoever we are speaking about.
Stop victimizing yourself, douchebag. |
I'm finally downloading Live at Leeds.
:) |
No one is flaming you for having a different opinion; what we don't like is how without fail you only post to bash whoever we are speaking about.

No I have not, I am going by this thread.

Then be quiet. |
No one is flaming you for having a different opinion; what we don't like is how without fail you only post to bash whoever we are speaking about.
Stop victimizing yourself, douchebag.
We don't need any name calling here. It's ok to say you don't like a certain artist some of the time but to complain about bands in almost all your posts is just unacceptable. Just talk more about things you enjoy opposed to the things you don't. You're a good user why don't you want to act like it? |
Then be quiet.
Why should I? Since when does the occasional chat, which some members here do not participate in, overshadow your "contributions" to this thread? |

Exactly. |
Way to answer that question correctly, pal.

I find this Classic Rock group of people pretty tight, and anything that goes on in the chats is as important as in the thread. |
See, I didn't think it was all that great :-\
I think that the new McCartney album, the new Rolling Stones, and Love And Theft (the most recent Dylan album) all suffer from the same hype: All three were released by rock legends who had gone decades without putting anything worthwhile out, so the second they release something listenable, people flip out and overrate it. Objectively, I don't think Chaos and Creation, A Bigger Bang, or Love and Theft are really all that great. They're albums that would be rated about three stars (out of five) 30 years ago, and while they certainly do have their moments ("Mississippi" is one of the best Dylan songs I have ever heard, personally, for instance), objectively, they really aren't anything better than average or above-average IMO.
It's definitely a second-listen type album. That's when it finally hit me as good. |
Haha, my mom actually looked at this screen for like the first time ever, and it was when everyone was changing eachothers names in the quotes (Mr Poopie Pie..hahah) and she's like "How imature! I hope you don't have a stupid name like that!!" Heh heh...I didn't wanna tell her my name is thick as a brick. And no one argue about shit in this thread any more. We all have opinions and we are allowed to express them fully...but we also have to explain them with a decent reason when asked to.
Schyma's psychedelic list was A LOT better in my opinion, mine would have been very similar....but I'm partial to Saucerful of Secrets so I would have included that one. "Chats" bother me....and I have I Want You in my head right now. That's about all I have to say for now. (Anyone hear from Walrus/Amanda yet?) |
I had a quick email correspondence with her. She says she should have a new name in about a week or so. And, for anyone who was involved with the Beatles thread Something cover thingie, she's working on recording the bass right now.
Just my two cents, I'd say what happens in that chats is a lot less important than what happens in the actual thread. |
Hey I have a opinion that no one else has, please flame me.
In the chats we only flamed you for not giving any support to your opinion, never because it was different. Top 10 (or so) psychedelic albums, no order: Love - Forever Changes The Who - Sell Out Cream - Disraeli Gears Grateful Dead - Aoxomoxoa Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced? The Doors - S/t QMS - Happy Trails Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow Spirit - Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus Traffic - Mr. Fantasy Pink Floyd - A Saucerful of Secrets I forgot a lot of good ones but I didn't really feel like going on. |
New revelation:
Voodoo Chile > Voodoo Child (Silent Return)
Pink Floyd - A Saucerful of Secrets Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow Spirit - Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced? Cream - Disraeli Gears
meh.... |
Is Donovan any good? I saw his album Sunshine Superman at a store once and I kind of backed away. I have no problem with psychedellic music but a line has to be drawn...
|
Heh heh....I just started listening to The Doors Live At Hollywood bowl, but I forgot that the song titles got mixed up. I was like "hmmm, I don't remember hearing a version of When The Music's Over that starts like this, awesome!" Then it turned out to be something else (woah, I don't remember what song it was, the song just ended like a minute ago...my memory sucks)
I LOVE DONOVAN!!! I think Hurdy Gurdy Man is quite possibly one of the greatest songs of all time. I wanna listen to it now. |
I really think QMS's s/t is a much better psychedelic album than Happy Trails. It has varied pop and jam songs, while HT only has jams.

I prefer jams, but I don't think Happy Trails is thaaaat much better than their s/t anyways. Both are good albums. |
I just feel that their s/t incorporates more psychedelic aspects than Happy Trails.

Who is that guy in your avatar Woodstock? I know he is from the psychedellic era, I saw him in guitar player...
