what up paul, MT

gaslight 02-05-2005 03:52 AM

GL Representin' on 2681 y'all.

PaulR 02-05-2005 03:57 AM

Yo coddingtown... whats up wit' yo?

coddingtown 02-05-2005 04:08 AM

Not too much. I really like my spector, but Im really debating taking it back and saving up for a warwick, for the growl that mine lacks. But if I do this, I wont have a decent bass in the meantime, and things are just starting to kick off band-wise.

Heres my situation... Spector euro neck through 4, or, trade it in for a bolt on warwick thumb 5.

If the thumb was neck through it would be hands down, but seeing as how I have like a week with which I can return it, and the ww is the same price, Im quite conflicted...

coddingtown 02-05-2005 04:10 AM

but... I just bought that "side one" cd online and Im stoked to get it.

PaulR 02-05-2005 04:11 AM

Thats a tough decision. But if you aren't going to be 100% happy with your bass, then take it back.

If its not what you want, you don't need to keep it.

coddingtown 02-05-2005 04:14 AM

true, true.

How much of a difference sustain-wise does neck through vs bolt on make?

PaulR 02-05-2005 04:16 AM

I have no idea. I think my bass is a bolt on, and I have never had the chance to play a through-neck.

coddingtown 02-05-2005 04:18 AM

ahh, well that was one of the main reasons I bought the spector. The neck through gives it great action and sustain and playability at the higher frets.

Im thinking Im gonna go with the ww, which sucks because I just bought coated strings for the spector...

PaulR 02-05-2005 04:21 AM

Yeah, but at least you will have something you will be totally happy with and thats all that matters in the end.

PaulR 02-05-2005 04:23 AM

Love to stay and chat. But I gotta roll out, theres some shizzle I gotta do today.

coddingtown 02-05-2005 04:23 AM

hah, I dont think I will ever be totally happy with an instrument till I get a streamer stage II 5, but I do think I will be happier with the tone of the ww.

ah well... later paul

PaulR 02-05-2005 04:24 AM

Ahh yeah. Was it you who +ve repped me?

coddingtown 02-05-2005 04:25 AM

yeah. I neg repped vivaladumbass and low end too

PaulR 02-05-2005 04:25 AM

Thanks. Anyways. Back to the leaving.

gaslight 02-05-2005 05:02 AM

When I was contemplating getting the SR900 rather than the SR500 as my new bass based upon the SR900 being a neck-thru, my bass teacher told me it wasn't worth the couple of hundred dollars in price difference.

Radiobass81 02-05-2005 06:49 AM

I played an SR once; it was one of the older models, with the P/J setup. I hated it.

Thunder Fingers 02-05-2005 07:19 AM

i think im starting my own little casual tradition.. this plase needs a little work up :p

Spaceman Spiff 02-05-2005 08:32 AM

I keep getting crappy news about the arrival date of my bass.
First it was going to be 4 weeks, that was 2 or 3 weeks ago.
A couple days ago I found out it won't be here until the end of February and maybe the first week of March.
