Ha I love Miss You. I just find Rain Fall Down boring.

Bruce Springsteen's DVD performance is so awesome. He's got to be one of the 5 most energetic performers ever.
Bruce Springsteen puts on a fantastic live show. Plus, I love his writing style.
I'm not entirely sure where you're coming from.

EDIT: It's ****ing snowing here. I think this will be the first time in my lifetime that we're gonna have a white Thanksgiving, and I'm pumped! Just thought you guys should know.
When you said "Hey Victa!" I thought you were imitating this guy from the movie Smoke Signals. It's a low budget Native American movie that we always watch in school...the nerdy friend constantly says "Hey Victor!" (the main character is named Victor), but his accent makes it sound like Victa!

It was suprisingly nice out today....we had like two feet of snow about a week or so ago and now it's almost all melted.

Bruce Springsteen is great, especially live! I love his Born to Run album...I wish I had it on vinyl. I have Born in the USA, but I don't like it as much.

edit - Did I mention I taught one of my students the rhythm and lead parts to St. Stephen and we jammed together for like forty five minutes? It was awesome. I wish some of my friends were actual good musicians. I wish I could find the tab to the live version...I had to print off the studio version and then try and show him all the changes because the live version is so much better.

No, Livewired's avatar was of Victor Wooten, who has a song called "Hey Victa!", or at least it's something he does live. He's also the bassist for Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.

DeusExMachina 11-23-2005 10:56 PM

<3 Bela Fleck

I'm not familiar with Bruce Springsteen's stuff, unfortunately. I know some, but not much.

dr._feelgood 11-23-2005 10:59 PM

My mom loves Springsteen, so I know alot of his stuff. Some of it's allright.

blue3 11-23-2005 11:34 PM

I don't listen to Bruce Springsteen much.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-24-2005 12:09 AM

I woke up to one hell of a day! As soon as I woke, I was in major upper body pain, there was no-one in the house so I ran up stairs turned off the internet so I could call my mom. She said to hold on while she calls my dad. Well my dad was 100 miles away at this time and my mom was on the other side of town so neither of them were any help so my dad ended up calling 911. I ended up in a bed for 5 hours and it was all because of a severe case of stomach acid. Hurt like hell! Although, it ended being a cool day though.

Albums I got:

Hail to the Theif – Radiohead
Unchained - Johnny Cash
Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Uplift Mofo Party Plan
The Great Twenty-Eight – Chuck Berry
…and I came back to a downloaded Catch a Fire by Bob Marley

Edit: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=415784

Has everyone put in their vote? If not, please do so now. :)

Illmatic 11-24-2005 12:33 AM

Wow, that's pretty weird. Did they find out how you got the stomach acid?

Follow-up joke: I think that's the only acid that Schyma hasn't enjoyed :p

Leper 11-24-2005 12:46 AM

I don't like Bruce Springsteen, his voice bothers me. I've always considered John Mellencamp as the better version of Bruce Springsteen.

NP: Yes- And You And I: The Preacher The Teacher

Is it just me or does Jon Anderson sound like Sting in this song?

blue3 11-24-2005 12:50 AM

5 hours.. That must've sucked.

How's that Radiohead album?

I haven't put my vote in yet.

Snow Day!!

/doesn't like Springstein

Although the guitarist for his E Street Band got his start with Neil Young. You can hear Nils Loftgren on such recordings as:

After the Goldrush
Tonight's the Night
and more.

He plays the piano on "Southern Man"(his first time ever playing piano) and plays guitar on quite a few songs on Tonights the Night

Pah, silly snow day! I'm not going to school because it's Thanksgiving! But it did snow here too.

Broken Arrow 11-24-2005 09:26 AM

Yeah we were done with Thanksgiving Day more than a month ago.

Meh, I still get the day off.

He only plays piano on Goldrush, right?
He only plays piano on Goldrush, right?
That is correct.

Lovely song.

Jacaranda 11-24-2005 01:42 PM

Whoa, hey not to change subjects but I'm reading this pretty good book about Psychedelic Rock and they have top Psychedelic Rock albums of all time so I thought I'd share.
1. The Beatles - Revolver
2. The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
3. The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground and Nico
4. My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
5. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
6. The 13th Floor Elevators - The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators/Live
7. The Flaming Lips - Transmissions From the Satellite Heart
8. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
9. Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica
10. Brain Eno - Another Green World
11. Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
24. The Rolling Stones - Their Satanic Majesties Request :upset:

Not a bad list at all they also have a top 10 Beatles songs, top 10 Velvet Underground songs, 10 Rolling Stones songs, and ten American Garage songs; all which are fairly good..

Badmoon 11-24-2005 01:45 PM

I don't think Loveless should be on that list.
<3 Bela Fleck
Bella Fleck is amazing, I didn't know anyone in here listened to him.

Happy turkey day everyone! :)

Badmoon 11-24-2005 01:58 PM

I use to like Bela Fleck, but have slowly gotten less interested.

Jacaranda 11-24-2005 02:10 PM

Ya, I used to like Bela Fleck some but it got really boring very fast.

Anyone have big plans for Thanksgiving? I'm just staying home with my Mom, her Boyfriend and my Grandma. Its a party!

Jacaranda 11-24-2005 02:17 PM

Can any one tell me who 52 (Under Tenacious D), 49, and 50 are? They are all on the tip of my tounge but I can't tell who exactly.
http://tinypic.com/view/?pic=hslycm

Love is 37 and Zombies are 136. Its a list of 189 and he mentions most of the important ones.

PinkFreud 11-24-2005 02:31 PM

52 is deep purple and 50 is pink floyd.

isnt it out of 200 something? how many did you get. i stalled at 88.

Jacaranda 11-24-2005 02:36 PM

I just re-opened it from 3:00 am last night. But I have 70/270 so far. Hm, number 49 is bugging me the guy with curly hair looks so familiar. Ah, Pink Floyd I knew that but I didn't know the Deep Purple.

PinkFreud 11-24-2005 02:37 PM

out of 270 right? im gonna see if my parents can identify any, but in all honesty, i dont think theyll get many more than i did.

Jacaranda 11-24-2005 02:39 PM

Theres too many cheesy 80's New Wave bands that all look the same. And alot of British looking bands, 90's bands. I just enter Oasis for all of the ones that look British (Racism wtf?).

Ah, thanks Badmoon ELO is correct, is the Curly haired guy Jeff Lynne then?

Badmoon 11-24-2005 02:39 PM

49 is ELO or Boston -- not sure which.

EDIT: Probably ELO

Woodstock 11-24-2005 03:12 PM

I just got an early birthday present, The Bob Marley Songs of Freedom Boxset. It's sweet. Four discs that range his whole career.

Broken Arrow 11-24-2005 05:17 PM

Haha, lucky.

You Know!

Lunch 11-24-2005 05:18 PM
