Yo I'll drink oj or something. I'm not big on coffee.
OJ's fine. :)

I'll probably whimp out and have tea, Eric. :thumb:

AIRIC 12-15-2005 09:09 PM

Tea is okay :)

Glitterati 12-15-2005 09:58 PM

I have decided that Prince is better than 98% of modern punk music. Call me an elitist, but I barely find any good new punk bands. I just prefer the older stuff.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 12-15-2005 10:06 PM

I should have a snowday. Forecast says 30-35 cm of snow.

Really good modern straight up punk is few and far between these days, which is why I usuallu stick to sub-genres, like folk-punk which hasn't let me down for good bands yet.

I don't really like folk-punk. It's such a weird combination of genres.

You like ska, you're opinion doesn't matter.

Say what you like, but it's been shown through scientific experiments that
Ska > Folk-Punk.

I don't care much for either genre but I'd say that Folk-Punk is better.

KingOfSka 12-15-2005 11:29 PM

You guys don't know what you're talking about.

Excursions 12-15-2005 11:30 PM

I like some modern 'punk' bands like !!! and Q And Not U but the majority of music these days doesn't compare to the oldies. Yes i'm an old music elitist.

Lazybassplr56 12-15-2005 11:34 PM

Q And Not U broke up. Didn't they?

Excursions 12-15-2005 11:38 PM

Yes they did, quite recently. They are still a modern punk band though.

Ska Bandit: If you listen to Toots And The Maytals your opinion might matter some. Please inform me if you do.

I have a horrible final tomorrow. It's for my music lit class. We have to bring in a Blue book (little book of paper stapled together for written exams) and a 100 question scantron. The material he has on it so far

4 essay questions (although he said he may only do 3 of them). One discussing the transition between classical to romantic music or romantic to 20th centruy. One comparing Reich's The Desert Music, Gorecki's Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, and Barber's Knoxville Summer of 1915. One defining music and altering the definition to exclude serial music from being music. And one discussing the role of keyboard insturments in each era of music.

Diagrams of the Sonta-Allegro form

Know about 20 pieces of music we've listened to in class

100 mutiple choice questions from the online quizzes, though he said he'd pick and choose from these.

This is ****ing ridiclous

time bomb 12-16-2005 02:32 AM

all i'm hearing is "bitch bitch bitch". Be glad you dont do chemistry. :P

AIRIC 12-16-2005 07:35 AM

My school didn't cancel, the bastards.
all i'm hearing is "bitch bitch bitch". Be glad you dont do chemistry. :P
Chemistry is easy. Trying to write 4 paragraphs comparing three 30 minute pieces of music is not.

TakeWarning 12-16-2005 11:09 AM

Chemistry easy? You are far from correct, my good man.

Brain Toad 12-16-2005 11:12 AM
Chemistry easy? You are far from correct, my good man.
I had an excellent chemistry teacher and he made it quite easy for me. It took some work to get stuff, but I never suffered understanding anything.

TakeWarning 12-16-2005 11:15 AM

My chemistry teacher was a dumb bitch who couldn't explain anything if her life depended on it. Haha, I bet even if I had a good teacher I'd still be too dumb to do chemistry.

Brain Toad 12-16-2005 11:19 AM

My Music Lit teacher is an arrogant asshole who expects everyone to understand all the music we listen to and be able to think critically about it all, when frankly 90% of the class doesn't give a ****.

TakeWarning 12-16-2005 11:24 AM

Yeah, I know what you're saying. You should just tell him what you think and hope he understands.

Brain Toad 12-16-2005 11:25 AM

Nah, he'd just go off on me. The best I can do is bull**** my way through the exam, do my best and hope for a C in the class so I get my credits without it f'ucking my GPA over too much.
I'm glad I decided I'm no longer going to be a music major.

TakeWarning 12-16-2005 11:29 AM

Sounds like a plan.

Wow, it's 1:30. I guess it's bedtime for TakeWarning...night y'all.

Brain Toad 12-16-2005 11:31 AM

You crazy people on the oppisite side of the world, it's only 9:30 AM.

TakeWarning 12-16-2005 11:33 AM

That hurt my feelings. I never realised you were 16 hours behind us. I thought it was more like 10 or 12. But 16 whole hours...
