There I don't even step in. Its llike US vs UK in that thread.

BuddyBigsby 08-22-2007 09:40 PM

I don't know if they're doing a full US or what but Bad Brains are doing at least two socal dates in september.

Let's Chop Cats! 08-22-2007 10:50 PM

They were terrible here. Unless there are other awesome bands playing I'd never pay more than 10 bucks to see the them these days.

More Bob, hint... Pantera.

BuddyBigsby 08-23-2007 01:27 AM

Yeah I'm keeping my expectations low, and I'm the only one out of the people I know that's convinced they're going to be terrible but I still have to go.

PS. I had an equally sweet Pantera shirt in my bag I should have busted out.

I got to meet Keith Morris yesterday. Dude was out there.

BuddyBigsby 08-27-2007 02:47 AM

Anyone know anyone that's worked at the apple store? Thinking of applying there.

santi3hg 08-27-2007 07:38 AM

Yeah actually. My friend and his dad both work for apple.

Its a good company and they have benefits normal part time jobs wouldn't offer. He has started a 401k through apple. The training is 3 very long days, but paid so thats like 20+ hours of time cause his training was from 9am-5pm. Pay is like any retail really, mediocre. If you got previous experience shoot past 8 bucks cause thats my friends first job which he still works and he makes 8 bucks an hour. They also do checks on figures of how well you've been able to sell, everything you ring up comes around you and what not. It supposedly helps come review time, so you can ask for a raise and ****.

The Great Decay 08-27-2007 08:33 AM

Are any of you guys into Reign Supreme/do you have any of their material on slsk?

Oh bummer, they don't have commission? I can't work for 8.

santi3hg 08-27-2007 07:58 PM

Nope its not by commission at all. Which really sucks cause my friend tells me of the sales he gets. 3,000+ and all the way up to 50,000. That would be a hugeeeeeeee commission.

BuddyBigsby 08-27-2007 09:00 PM

Yeah, I'd imagine you'd make bank. Thanks for the info.

shane italian 08-27-2007 10:38 PM

I was thinking about getting a job at Apple when I was going to move to Austin, but my friend told me it's a bust and you don't even get the job through Apple. You go through a temp agency and for 6 months you're just on probation with the temp agency. Plus it didn't even pay as well as you'd think for some big company.

If I was gonna waste my life in a cubicle i'd go with Geico...15 an hour for starting with no degree or previous experience.

But right now natural foods is my calling

BuddyBigsby 08-28-2007 12:18 AM

I just want a cooler job. Like I get paid decent for sitting behind a computer and listening to my ipod, but I don't like feeling useless and when I actually have to do work I seriously feel like I'm in ****ing Office Space.

shane italian 08-28-2007 12:23 AM

being a cashier rules so far

I just chill and talk to cute hippie girls

BuddyBigsby 08-28-2007 12:25 AM

Glad you got a good one

a year and a half of customer service left me permanently scarred and i will never do another cashier job again

shane italian 08-28-2007 12:15 PM

I didn't think i'd want to do customer service anymore after my experience with the pizza place i worked at...but then I realized it was either that or getting a desk job or doing manual labor...and neither of those seem too good at this age.

Plus natural foods is my ticket to San Francisco...once I'm done in Denton i'm just gonna get my foot in Whole Foods and transfer out there.

NewKindofArmy03 08-28-2007 01:12 PM

I need to get a job so bad now. I did a temporary internship for the Philadelphia School District during the summer where I did absolutely nothing. I might try getting a job at Circuit City now.

Also currently trying to work at a haunted house/hayride thing because it sounds like it'd be awesome.
