ATTN: COMPUTER-SAVVY PEOPLE

I have this forty-five minute interview at 256kbps, and over the course of the interview three songs off an upcoming album are played.

I want to get around the interview and just get to the songs as separate mp3s.

Is there a free, easy-to-use mp3 splicer on the Internet? Google ain't helpin' much...

magicbus 03-24-2005 09:56 PM

So I ****ing ruled my guitar today.

AH, if the songs are being played AS the interview is happening, it probably can't happen. But if they're seperate, you could "cut and paste" the file with something like Cool Edit Pro. Which is why I was looking for it earlier. I wanted to break up this concert mp3 into seperate songs.

Sup again guys. My mom just got home from Seattle, and she bought me this lame cd. :-/ Anyone heard of Gavin DeGraw?

I need to break mine up too

magicbus 03-24-2005 10:07 PM

With Cool Edit Pro, you can cut out sections of the mp3, then paste it as a new file and save it. I was gonna do that, but I don't have the program anymore.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-24-2005 10:08 PM

How do you get it from DVD to mp3 in the first place?

sandman420 03-24-2005 10:08 PM

I got it too, how do you?

ArcLite 03-24-2005 10:10 PM

Howdy fellas.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-24-2005 10:10 PM

Holy crap, there are millions of the gatoloafs!

Jom 03-24-2005 10:11 PM

Um, let me try to clarify:

It's in the radio station. The band interviews, then it's silent so they broadcast the song.

Say the interview is forty minutes, and I want to splice 2:30-5:00, 7:55-11:00, and 23:30-28:00 because that's the song only. Is there a program where I can do that?

magicbus 03-24-2005 10:11 PM

Modestbob posted it as a YSI earlier. I don't know how he did it, but I'll find the link for you guys.

Yea AH, that's possible. You could do it with something like Cool Edit Pro.

Jom, Yes-Get Goldwave

Goldwave

I use it all the time. It's basically the same thing as CEP, but it's a lot simpler to use for what you're trying to do. What band is the interview with?

Jom 03-24-2005 10:15 PM

Okay, time out. Someone explain, I am Internet-retarded.

magicbus 03-24-2005 10:16 PM

This just in, I still have the CEP install file! I might do the concert thingy.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-24-2005 10:19 PM

Jom. Just download from that site. All you have to do is highlight a section, then delete the rest, and you have the song. It's simple as hell.

Kingofdudes 03-24-2005 10:21 PM

ONE OF THESE DAYS IM GOING TO CUT YOU INTO LITTLE PIECES!

One of these days is so awesome on the DVD

If you get it can you repost the file with the separate songs.

Jom 03-24-2005 10:28 PM

Kombucha, question for you.

How can I get it to show the exact time on the "Set Start Marker" and "Set Finish Marker?"
