I have a surprise for you guys.
I ca'nt believe I found this. Pink Floyd - Live in Venice 1989. The whole concert, the whole VIDEO. 500megs, ill upload it when i can. This isint the official Delicate sound of thunder video btw.. it's.. a professionally taped bootleg I guess. |
This site might help. It has a lot of information about Floyd albums, including who sings on which song.
http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/pink_floyd_discography.php
thanks, that was an interesting read |
A song I haven't heard much of on here is Fat Old Sun (Off the album Atom Heart Mother, early 70's I believe). The lyrics are beautiful, and what a solo! :)
|
^^
Yes, I got that a while ago off of Kazaa, it's amazing. The only thing that sucks is the camera zooms in on Gilmour's RIGHT hand way too much. |

OK, I'm trying to download it right now. |
My friend burned me Dark Side of the Moon a while back and I'd listened to it a little, but hadn't really got around to actually listening to the CD until last night.
It was some good stuff, especially Time. Now I see why it's such a popular album. |

If you don't believe me, go smoke a bowl of chronic and blast that song in a dark room and see what happens. (It kicks *** when your not high too :) ) :smoke: |
When the tigers broke free is a cool song

I love that song. I'm much more familiar with the version on the Gilmour acoustic DVD, however. |

Oh yeah, that DVD rocks. It's amazing when he does Shine On with just him on acoustic guitar, yet it sounded so full. |

I'd love some Pink Floyd right about now. :thumb:
|
What's a better Floyd DVD, Gilmour Acoustic 2002, or Live At Pompeii?
I want to get one of them for my birthday, which one should I ask for? I'll probably end up getting both though. |
Live in Pompeii was AMAZING!!! Can't say it's better though because I haven't seen it yet but Pompeii is extremly hard to beat.

I've always been a fan of mellower music, and thus the acoustic DVD appeals to me more. But, Pompeii has some great tracks, and some insight into what studio time was like for the band, so... it's really a toss up. Depends on what era you're more into: Pre-DSOTM, or later stuff and stuff Gilmour wrote after 94? |
Live At Pompeii is better IMO. Much more epic, and while I love Gilmour, I think it was better to see them all playing together.
I do own both though, I'd check out both of them. |
I guess I'll get Live At Pompei first, but get both eventually.
|
I'd probably say get Pompeii first, although I prefer the acoustic DVD to LAP.
|
If you do get Pompeii, make sure it is the Director's Cut.
|

I have it, and I can't stand it. It takes away from the original feel of the whole thing, and there are all those annyoing planet animations. The good thing though, is that the entire 'original' footage is in the bonus features. |

If you wanna find out about Nick Mason and his round apple pie, get Live at Pompeii :)

Still not as got as Pulse (which I got courtesy of yourself.)
NP: Prelude for Lute by Bach, performed by Andres Segovia.
Hah, loser. Just kidding, I like classical music, too. And yeah, Animals is pretty awesome. It used to be one of my least favorite albums, but it grew on me a lot (particularly Pigs) and now its my favorite after The Wall and Wish You Were Here. |
So Dark Side of The Forum it is....
|
Yeah, I got Bartender to rename it. If you guys want a different one, I can pull some more strings. :)
|
Yay, for name change.
I like it. |
We finally got the name change
Pigs is such an amazing song, the solo at the end is one of my favorite Gilmour moments. |
How long are we gonna keep the name changed?
|
We finally got the name change

I also love the cowbell.

same here. Live at Pompeii is probably my favourite DVD of all time. |
w00tz for the new thread name. :)
I need "Atom Heart Mother". |
That made me feel good just reading it. I don't know why, but I really like your descriptives. :thumb:.
Gratz. I put a lot of thought into that... my teachers at school always tell me I'm a good writer too. BTW, I'm glad for the name change, but I still would've preferred "One of These Threads Is Going to Cut You Into Little Pieces" Come on, you know you love it ;) NP: Chumba Wumba - Tub Thumpin' ... damn iTunes Shuffle :upset: |
"One of These Threads Is Going to Cut You Into Little Pieces"
yeah, i do like that. I nominate that for our next name in a month or so's time. |
That is a good name, though the current new name is pretty good, too.
|
Yes, Nice thread name.
One of these threads is going to cut you into little pieces is good as well. Mister Blue Sky, Do you want me to send you Atom Heart Mother? Personally I don't think if your not a hardcore nazi Floyd fan you sould buy it, but I have it if youd like. |
Didn't Neurotoxin upload the entire Floyd discography a few days ago?
He can just get it there then... |
Yea, I need to download More and a few others before those expire.
|

Thanks a lot for the offer but my computer is too slow to download a full album. When it has it's fast days, I go on YSI sprees, but it's slow today. :( |
