His playing on the old albums was quite good, but the past few albums have been tasteless wankery, they've really gone downhill, I suggest you check out Hatebreeder and Follow The Reaper before you criticize Bodom though.

Papa Gheylol 09-21-2005 07:34 AM

I've heard all their work ..

I agree, Hatecrew Deathroll isn't a good album to start out with. It is a nice, good, catchy CD, but if you want Bodom in their heyday, check out those CDs.

Hey Squirrel. CoB is technical. CoB is technical. CoB is technical. CoB is technical. CoB is technical. CoB is technical. CoB is technical. CoB is technical. CoB is technical.

And yes, why the bannage, dude?

Papa Gheylol 09-21-2005 07:48 AM

Haha.

I think I was banned for trying to start a pro-aryan modship and removing all non white members.

Exactly.

<shouldbepostedinthedtthread> I just got the live concert of Dream Theater covering the album "The Number of The Beast". It's seriously amazing. </shouldbepostedinthedtthread>

I had a Dream Theater live cover of Master Of Puppets (the album), and a video of them doing the song.

The music is good, but it cracks me up seeing LaBrie try to imitate Hetfield...and the clean guitar part played on a keyboard.

LaBrie >>>>>>>>> Hetfield.

That cover album is great too.

Shattered_Future 09-21-2005 01:16 PM

He is...he has a better range, but him doing a Hetfield impression is like having Ashlee Simpson mimic Angela Gossow...it just ain't right.

IheartSP 09-21-2005 01:18 PM

Hmm lets see, Kalmah, formed in 1999, that's the year Hatebreeder came out. They had a death metal band before it that wasn't anything like waht they are now. I'd say CoB came first...

I've never heard Sentenced so I couldn't tell you if they ripped them off, but seeing as no one else has ever mentioned it they couldn't have done it that badly.

I know of a lot of guitarists better than Alexi but like I said that doesn't make him any worse, and he is towards the top of his genre anyway. I think his songwriting is great, or at least used to be, and it is leagues ahead of bands like Norther in technicality.

Shattered_Future 09-21-2005 01:20 PM

Sentenced has been around forever...14 years, I think. 8 albums...

Squirrel, you have to admit that Alexi can belt out a killer solo on occasion...

do you have rebel yell that shoud be funny.

flamesofbodom 09-21-2005 03:56 PM

When did they do Sepultra

Shadows 09-21-2005 03:57 PM

I think is was released on a European version of Something Wild. Most of their covers were released on things not available in the US.

This Number of the Beast cover is amazing! Every song is a great remake, Labrie does a decent job, and Petruccis tone blows Dave and Adrian's out of the water. Gangland is hilarious!!! It's jazz for gods sake!!
