The extra verse on Black Sabbath.

shadow_stalker 08-06-2005 10:00 AM

I love the meldo-dramatic "oh no" on black sabbath

rippa32 08-06-2005 05:50 PM

Actually you should hear Ian Gillan do it, its incredible.

EDIT: You can get it here, http://home.swipnet.se/sabbath83/

I think it was Vinnie Appice, not sure what band.

Brew 08-10-2005 08:17 AM

It was...Bev Bevan.

Not sure what band he was from though.

Vinny replaced Bill on the Heaven and Hell tour.

sunsinger 08-10-2005 10:01 AM

I think he was in Electric Light Orchestra.

Brew 08-10-2005 02:29 PM

<---

I should go outside for a bit.

rippa32 08-11-2005 03:00 AM

I don't get it. And anyways yes it was Bev Bevan and yes he was from ELO.
Well done both of you.

Brew 08-11-2005 05:50 AM

Look at my postcount :)

//

I guess I'll ask a trivia question now...

What is the only Black Sabbath song that Tony Iommi has done backing vocals on?

rippa32 08-12-2005 05:00 AM

I can't remember but it was on either Technical Ecstacy or Never Say Die. And nice avatar.

Brew 08-12-2005 07:21 AM

Cheers, your avatar is going to be copied to my computer from vinyl sometime this afternoon :)

The answer to my Trivia Q is on the Never Say Die! album.

Metallideth666 08-12-2005 10:32 AM

a hard road

Metallideth666 08-12-2005 10:33 AM

bill ward also sings lead vocals on swinging the chain

Brew 08-12-2005 10:55 AM

He also sings the vocals on Its Alright, from the Technical Ecstasy album :)

Here's one that you might not get...

Who played the harmonica on Swinging the Chain?

sunsinger 08-12-2005 11:50 AM

I'm pretty sure it was John Elstar.

Brew 08-12-2005 11:59 AM
I'm pretty sure it was John Elstar.
I'll go check.

Edit: Yep, you're right :)

rippa32 08-12-2005 06:26 PM

Why not ozzy? He plays it on The Wizard doesn't he?

shadow_stalker 08-13-2005 02:01 AM

Yeah he played on the wizard, maybe over the years he couldnt anymore...or he was just to drugged up to do it

Brew 08-13-2005 02:53 AM
Why not ozzy? He plays it on The Wizard doesn't he?
Probably like what shadow said - too drugged up or un-interested in the album to play it. I think the Castle re-masters credit Ozzy for playing it though.

rippa32 08-13-2005 03:39 AM

Thats how many posts we all have in here, I nearly have 1000 posts dedicated to Black Sabbath...sweet.

rippa32 08-13-2005 06:36 PM

Thats still a good number. I suppose that was stupid thinking the thread was big enough for one person to post 5,000 times. ah well. btw Im probably going to get Born Again next time I go to a music shop.

Brew 08-14-2005 03:33 AM

If you like Deep Purple you'll like Born Again.

Apparently Ozzy has choson to retire again, but this time I think he's serious.

Edit: But I bet the other Sabs will continue on without him...can anyone else smell a possible Dio/Martin/Gillan re-union tour in the next few years?

shadow_stalker 08-14-2005 08:02 AM

I hope they get Martin back, i think it's about time ozzy called it quits (no offense to him).

I'm so far behind andy in postcounts :upset:

geezer6970 08-14-2005 03:02 PM

there are so many songs the best ozzy songs are children of the grave, war pigs, and N.I.B. If u wanna hear so other great ozzy songs listen to the wizard and snowblind. My favorite dio sond is heaven and hell that song is awesome. children of the sea and neon knights are also great. and if u have some extra time on your hands listen to E5150 and the mob rules. i listen to tony martin but i dont know any of his songs. ian gillan would have been better if he stoo for more than one album. Well thats it hope u learned something.

Brew 08-14-2005 03:04 PM

^No, not really.

Thanks anyway :)
