Wow, have I not mentioned ITT that I'm going to Live 8 as well? It seems not...anyway, I am. Basically. London's got a very good lineup (far better than anywhere else) with Muse, Coldplay, U2, The Cure, and others...but yeah, Pink Floyd. I feel so unbelievably happy that I'm actually going to get to see them live, even if it is only for 20 minutes or so.
/you is smuggling a video camera in, amirite?

Well, this cold is taking longer than I thought to pass. I hope Ethan isn't too dissapointed in me. :(

Can you record your drums at all, Jonny? We also need a bass player, and a keyboardist.

Relax and breathe in the air little grasshopper... :D

Magicaltroll 06-17-2005 11:38 PM

So are Pink Floyd just touring again?
Because my friend swears that they are making an album too, but I don't believe him.
I don't think they could make any more good albums anyway... But thats just me.

Riva 06-18-2005 12:49 AM

They aren't touring, nor are they making a new album. They are just coming together to play a 20min set at Live8. I doubt anything else will eventuate, despite what we hope.

I didn't think they were making a new album...
But that kind of sucks.

Why only one show?

I'm going too. :) My mind can't even fathom seeing the Floyd right now.

Muse and The Cure dropped out though. They're playing in Paris instead. :(

Roger Waters was being an anus to all the members during the recording of The Wall.

If I could borrow my friends recording gear I could record keyboards.

Dude, think about it.

You're one of the very very very select few people to have seen Pink Floyd all together within the last 20 years and forever! LIVE!!

Jude 06-19-2005 09:53 AM

I hate you Londoners. You get Floyd, McCartney, and U2. We get 50 Cent, P Diddy, and Maroon 5. :upset:

Oh well. I'm going anyway.

Why does the U.S. have bullplop for their lineups?

Because thats the only music that's on the radio.

ObscuredByClouds 06-19-2005 04:51 PM

best song by PF, time

robo2448 06-19-2005 04:54 PM

I already posted them, but CN, WYWH, and Time. Mother is the most underrated though, fantastic song.

lunch998 06-19-2005 04:55 PM

Mine are Hey You, Dogs, Sheep, Astronomy Domine, Interstellar Overdrive, a lot others.
List of bands playing at Live 8
Muse and Pink Floyd are the only bands there I would actually want to see

My favourites which are just off the top of my head so probably wrong are:
Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun
Money
Comfortably Numb

Flaminghotchino 06-20-2005 09:22 PM

I think The Trial is a very underated song..

Very underated indeed.

magicbus 06-20-2005 09:33 PM

I love The Trial. It has the creepy vocals, which turn even creepier when the judge and "the wall' riff come in. What a great song.

MalcolmYoungRock 06-20-2005 09:47 PM

I don't really like the Trial, just because sometimes Floyd really creeps me out. But it's cool.

The creepiest song on "The Wall" is easily Goodbye Blue Sky, or Is There Anybody Out There? just because those songs have creepy vocals.

Especially Goodbye Blue Sky.

JonG 06-20-2005 09:52 PM

Is There Anybody Out There? freaks me out. Always have to hit forward on that one.

For goodbye blue sky, i'm not quite sure what band it's by, i think rolling stones or something not sure, but it's like goodbye ruby tuesday, it sounds EXACTLY like goodbye blue sky only when they say "goodbye ru-". I love the guitar in is there anybody out there, but i tend to hate when he says, "is there anybody out there" just because it's said all airy.

I don't enjoy the trial too much, just because it creeps me out like no other, but i think the division bell is an extremely underrated album by many pink floyd fans, but it still gets the appreciation it deserves by some of them.
