But not by religion.

Look at the bottom of the FAQ page and read the creators name.
20. Does Idaho exist
No. The existence of Idaho is a lie, fabricated by a conspiracy of cartographers, as is England (see question 10).

EDIT: forgot about these.

21. What about North Dakota?
That doesn't exist either.
22. Any other places which are believed to exist but really don't?
Yes, Australia. And then there are the cryptogeographica, places such as Kadath, Carcosa, Hobbiton, Narnia, Hy-Brasil, Hell and such whose existence has not been satisfactorily proven.
Nice Spinal Tap refrence in your user title, I'd rep you if I could.

It is actually a nice way to keep people tied to religion. The church claims they are going to hell if they dont do things their way. So people thinking they will be rewarded, follow the religion.

I hate the Catholic mindset, where they feel that only their belief is right, and if you think otherwise you are going to hell. At least Buddhists respect other peoples beliefs.

What's your appeal to nu-metal? I'm just curious.

I'm Christian, not Catholic, but I respect other people's religions.

Its simplicity. And sometimes, lyrically, it hits home to me. That's all.

This Catholic mindset you speak of does not exist. It's more of the Anti-Catholic mindset that gives us a bad rep.

I have no problem with people like you, I just hate the "I'm right, you're wrong" mentality.

Yeah, I don't like the over-all sound of it, or the lyrics either. It's not the simplicity that draws me away. I've tried getting into it a few times, but it doesn't do it for me. I like a little bit of system of a down though.

What seems reppatative, the whole "every song sounds the same" thing? or the music?

The goods ones make Jesus into a three syllable word. Je-su-us.

When I hear nu-metal on the radio, I may like certain bits and pieces of a song, but in the end they all seem to sound too similar.

It can be controlling, but it can also be a source of unity, and that's the primary purpose.

You know those preachers on those Christian channels who perform in front of a pretty big congregation? Those people.

Jimmy Swaggart for instance.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-24-2005 08:14 PM

It's always (from what ive heard) the same, vocalist singing soft and prety in the verse with some weird guitar noise behind him, and then its gets heavy in the chorus and the singer barks like dog, It been done to death.
