Have any Woody Guthrie? I figure if anyone has anything by him it'd be either you or thickasabrick.
What Tony Rice album(s) do you recommend me getting first?
Yea, I can upload some Woody Guthrie. For Tony Rice, Backwaters (Which is what I couldn't upload) is just fantastic. Some of the best guitar playing, and beautiful compositions you'll find. Manzanita's pretty good too. |
When oh when will thy Badmoon upload "Elevation"?
:( Or anybody that has it. |
Speaking of Dr. John, I will be seeing him in 7 days.
Eat it. |
Heh, I sent out an album by him. I like him.
|
Thanks Moon. :)
Schyma: regarding the line in "Sloop John B", that song is a cover of a traditional song, and I forget the original line, but Wilson changed it around as a nod to acid/shrooms and it really pissed off one of the other guys in the Beach Boys.
Even though I love the song/line, that would piss me off too. I mean changing a line in a traditional song so it can include a drug reference is just disgraceful. At least it was about a good drug.....:p Shrooms > Any other drug |
I'm upload the Dust Bowl Ballads, by Woody Guthrie.
And Unchained by Johnny Cash -- one of my favorite albums, let alone my favorite Johnny Cash album.
Speaking of Badmoon, his boy Dr. John played piano on the song "Let It Loose" by the Stones.
Pretty good song
When oh when will thy Badmoon upload "Elevation"?
Eventually. |

What Tony Rice album(s) do you recommend me getting first?
Haha the only Woody Guthrie I have are a few albums/compilations of his that I am borrowing from the library. I think there's enough late charges on them that I shoulda just went out and bought the albums. You really can't go wrong with Tony Rice. Blackwaters (as Badmoon suggested) is my favourite album of his, but I've only actually heard a few of his albums. I actually prefer learning/playing his songs, than listening to him play them...but of course, he can always play them a hundred times better so it's nice to hear them every once in a while. edit - hey Badmoon, could you send me that Guthrie album you are uploading....I'd upload some of my library ones, but my ripping program always quits about halfway through for some reason...so it's tricky. I want at least one of his albums that I don't have to give back in a few weeks. And Schyma, did you get that acid yet? Shrooms are an amazing drug, I've been wanting to do them so badly lately...but they are very rare in winter around here. I think we are doing salvia tonight. np: The Ballad of Hollis Brown. (TTTAA-C is such an amazing album, I used to not like it very much...now I absolutely love it). |
What's your email? Is it on the mailing list?

Do you have the E-mail list? If not mine is:

Shrooms are an amazing drug, I've been wanting to do them so badly lately...but they are very rare in winter around here. I think we are doing salvia tonight.
Well....we're supposed to get 100$ worth (how ever much this is I don't know) this weekend but I have my doubts about how this deal is going down. No-one sells shrooms down here if you want shrooms you have to go pick them for yourself and we haven't had rain in seemingly a half of a year and it's wayyy to cold for shrooms so I have to wait til' Spring for any shrooms to come popping from the ground. So no shroom trips for me for a few months. :-/ I've never heard of anyone getting salvia around here but I'd love to try it. |
Does Trey have new material out?
I saw him on Letterman and wondered if he had a new album and if it would be worth picking up. |
Does Trey have new material out?

I hear Trey is touring, my English teacher was going to go see him
I would be jealous if he hadn't made that guest appearance on Mountain Jam this August :D I just went out and bought Grateful Dead s/t (The skeleton and roses one) out of boredom It's pretty good Terrapin Station>Terrapin |

Have you ever tried Morning Glory (LSA)? I've read a lot about it on Erowid and it definitely sounds like something I wanna try. Most peope said at average doses it's like a very relaxed mushroom trip....and it's legal (they sell the seeds in flower shops and apparently at our Headshop.) If you have any Headshops in your city, they'd probably sell salvia, just ask them. No one advertises salvia because the average drug user usually doesn't enjoy the effects they get from it (they mistake it for a "party drug"), and if it gets too popular it will definitely be made illegal. So it's kinda hush hush. I'm listening to Out To Lunch right now....this album is so great. I wish my CD burner worked so I could burn it and listen to it in my car...my friends would love it. And I think I'm on the mailing list, I seem to get a lot of albums mailed to me. back_in_black256@hotmail.com just in case. |
I've been trying to find some LSA but haven't had any any success. I didn't know they sold them in headshops though so I'll check it out. What's salivia like? I've heard mixed opinions. (mostly bad)
Out to Lunch is fantastic easily the best Free Jazz album I've heard. |
albums sent.
Salvia is easy to get out here. I have a friend who smokes that stuff like cigerattes. |
Thanks Moon, can't wait to hear them both.
I found 100 Cash songs on my computer yesterday that I thought were long gone. |
I got Thelonius Monk with John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall today. It's so good.
And I also got The Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett Story, I couldn't believe F.Y.E. had it. |
I really want that DVD and that album sounds intresting.
After about 20 hours of downloading, All Things Must Pass is finally finished. :) |
All Things Must Pass is definatly worth the 20 hours to download or in that case, $30 to buy
|
Oh, busting out the edit Walrus? Scared they will see it?
Any one seen I Walk The Line? I'm watching the Making of, it on HBO he sounds fairly accurate. |

I got it for $12  |
Absolutely love classic rock, my favourite.
The Beatles, Dylan, Led Zeppelin, CCR, Hendrix, Kinks, The Who etc. The Beatles are the absolute pinnacle of rock music. people say The Beatles are far from metal but i think they created it. - Helter Skelter - 1968 (The White Album) |
I don't think Classic Rock ever really died down. When I was growing up, the 80's music was the craz with the "Pop Brats" but Classic Rock still a strong and loyal audience, however I do see it more highlighted these days. This might be because the Classic Rock acts can sell out an arena so much faster then the new acts and end up adding multiplte sold out dates at the same venue thus being more profitable because they don't have to break down and set up the equipment so much.

I thought I got it at a great price. I payed around 25 bucks. Yeah New York prices suck. Then I saw it at Costco for like 14.99 like a week later:angry: It was still worth it though. I think I listen to I Live For You at least once a day. It's such a beautiful song. |

My favorite George from All Things... is... probably the good ol' cliche, "What is Life" and "My Sweet Lord". |

 I have this Orbison picture saved on my computer for future avatar use: http://www.roy-orbison.com/orbison-bio.jpg He actually had an eye problem that made everything seem brighter so he had to wear the glasses. Not just for style. They are such sweet sunglasses though. Bono from U2 has the same problem, which is why he always wears sunglasses. But his sunglasses look kind of retarded. np- Orbison- Uptown:cool: |
Rockin' the Harrison avatars, robo.
