Yay for FF8
I remember being excited when it came out, and liking it Then disliking it for whatever reason (OMGZ IT ISNT FF7) Now that I'm not a dumbass, I appreciate it again. |
Today I bought Grease (a pack of a vhs AND a dvd) and The Whole Ten Yards for $6.50 total. I love looking through the discount bins at the grocery store.
My friend's mom got him to go buy her groceries with her debit card. She wanted bread, milk, cereal, and soup. She had enough on her card for the bread, and that was it.
Embarresing Much? |
something about models right? "runway"
Sorta. It's a compeititon for designers, but there are no-name models involved. |
my sister used to watch that show.
i really dont like most of what they come out with though; they look like something youd get out of ross in the clearance section. |
Hey guys, just wondering what book(s) i should add to my shopping basket alongside 'stick control'...
(postage savings is the name of the game) |
What books od you already have?
|
Advanced funk and fusion concepts, good book by the way. Full of good grooves
I hear so much about stick control that i can spare the £15 to buy it and hopfully improve my playing. So the reason im asking is because while im buying from the internet i can save a bit of money on postage by buying 2 or 3 books at a time. I just don't know which ones are good investments. Im looking for a book with concepts rather than set grooves. The book i currently have is great for playing to a click and keeping grooves in time, but doesn't help me break any personal barriers or give much inspiration to creating my own licks/grooves... etc I hope you understand what i mean :) Thanks josiah, -Austin |
Bore. I'm at school and they block myspace and there's no one on MX. Internet is useless.

Well there's no doubt Stick Control will improve your playing if you use it.
Adcanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer is a fantastic jazz/swing book. You might want to check out Rudimental Logic or The Rudimental Cookbook, those are great rudimental playing books. Of course can' forget The New Breed, wich is very much a multifacisted book and you can take the concepts used in it and run forever, hence why it's really just not a book you can complete, like Stick Control. Gary Chaffee's Rhythm series (there's 4) are excellent as well. The Stickings and Accent book maybe be hte one for you. |

hahahah  oh my god you have to watch tis! |
New Breed is definately a great book. It's one of those things where you can notice a definate improvement in just a couple minutes of practice.
One time when I was really drunk my friends convinced me to eat a mouthful of wasabi. The result was the worst 10 minutes of my life. |
I snorted Wasabi for a $300 bet once. It was fun. My nose bled for an hour nonstop.

It gives me ideas. And theres this really cool guy, rock-and-roll designer. I like his clothes. |

They both have some high-level dvds out that I'm thinking of looking into. Do you know them? |

So I voted tonight for the first time. I'm 90% sure the vote will be against construction, since it got delayed for an hour due to not even having enough people come out to vote at all. Oh, and derryk, if you read this, watch City TV news tomorrow. I should be on there. I'm the one in the back corner with the beard.
And I'm very mad/sad/confused/a bunch of other emotions. One of my closest friends just told me a couple hours ago she signed up for the military, for combat specifically. I didn't know how to respond. It sucks. |
They have women in combat?
Im not saying that as in "lolz wimpy women cant fight!" but more in the way of "Oh that is different." |
HAhaha don't worry, The United States Military does not put females into combat positions.
on a happier note! here's a picture i took earlier tonight haha http://josiahmicheletti.com/ozzdebbie.jpg |
Yeah, it's Canada's military. They'll take anything.
It's not like I'm expecting she's going to get shot her first day overseas or anything, it's just really weird to have a friend tell you that. She always seemed really anti-violence, of every kind. I guess it's what she wants to do though, and there's nothing I can do to stop her. |

Canada has a military?!
 No, seriouslly, they do? I did not think they had much in the way of armed forces. Well I wouldn't worry about a girl, in Canada's army.. hahahha come on that's just funny to say!!... yes, nothing to worry about there. Granted, it's a bit disturbing for someone to actually want to go kill. Though most people have no idea what they are getting into when they join. |
It's not really a military in the sense of the United States' military.
But yes, there are troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and we're averaging roughly one Canadian troop casualty a week, I'd say. Atleast recently. She did it for "education" reasons. I think she signed up for 2 years, and then they pay for 4 years of education. They wanted to put her in Intelligence, but she told them she'd rather do combat. :( |
hmmmm, I was just looking at Damo's "final warning " post.
I can tell he's ticked off because he got rid of that very cute cat avatar, which was replaced with " behave or leave". -it's a shame *loves siamese cats* <-(even though his was burmese) |
its a birman
