Which QMS do you recommend to start with?

Ephemeral 11-15-2005 08:10 PM

I'm obsessed with the song 'Moonlight Mile' off of Sticky Fingers.

Awesome song.

Wow, you grandpa must be pretty swingin'
My friend's Grandpa moved to Mexico and married a woman as old as his daugter

Mine's 84 and has an 82 year old girlfriend, the skunk got him at her house

Oh so he's look Rod Stewart. Except Stewart marries 20 year olds.

I've been listening to Truth recently. It's growing on me. Not as good as Blow by Blow but still a good album. I'm getting used to Stewart's singing

Glitterati 11-15-2005 08:21 PM
I have "Songs in the Key of Life".
Awesome album. My favorite is "Sir Duke".

Edit - And GY!BE is totally awesome.

np: The Police - Every Breath You Take

WelcomeToTheMachine 11-15-2005 08:25 PM

Walrus- i recomend the Shady Grove rehearsals if your into the actual music, its a lot of jamming, but its extremely good

Broken Arrow 11-15-2005 08:32 PM

I'm liking the '67 one so far. The '66 one was good too. Better quality than the Cream show.

yeah, she's younger than my dad. i can imagine that it's very awkward for him.

we dont really like her that much. she's a gold digger.

i love truth. i love jeff beck. i recently got another of his bootlegs, as well as about 8 new jeff buckley ones.

WelcomeToTheMachine 11-15-2005 08:43 PM

PF- did you get the ones i posted? i like em a lot

i sent out the email of Boots, it has Hendrix, Lennon, Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, and Hot Tuna

robo2448 11-15-2005 09:03 PM

I'm listening to Hot Tuna right now (the bootleg) :thumb:

Good stuff.

thickasabrick 11-15-2005 09:27 PM

I wouldn't mind some bootlegs if they are still being sent out.

If I can't get into Live/Dead this time I will finally decide that it sucks......

My brother just gave me a greatest hits of the Who which he found.

NP: Dark Star (live) - Grateful Dead

thickasabrick 11-15-2005 09:45 PM

I think Live Dead is unbeleivably amazing. It's one of my favourite albums, definitely in my top three for favourite live albums.

robo2448 11-15-2005 09:49 PM

I prefer Europe '72.

I was actually disappointed the first time I heard Live/Dead. I had heard a lot about it, especially Dark Star and it didn't live up to my expectations the first time I heard it. But it's grown on me a lot. Good album.

course not. she goes for them rich.

haha.
It was an instinctive reaction, PF, so I wouldn't take it too seriously.

haha, i got that. dont worry.

thats a good kick to be on.

It's really good. Ranking Neil's albums are impossible for me since I consider around 5 of his albums to all be amazing, including Tonight's the Night.

I'll try though- After the Goldrush = On the Beach = Everybody Knows this is Nowhere = Tonight's the Night > Live Rust > Zuma > Prairie Wind > Mirror Ball

That's from what I have. Seriously, the first four are like interchangeable for me. I guess After the Goldrush is my favorite because it's the first I've heard, but those four are awesome, including Tonight's the Night.

robo2448 11-15-2005 10:16 PM
So did the Jeff Beck Group borrow ideas from Led Zeppelin, or vice-versa? Because on thing I've noticed about Beck-Ola and Truth is that a lot of those songs sound like less bombastic, better-sung (for the most part) Led Zeppelin songs.
Well the Jeff Beck group came before Zeppelin... I'm pretty sure that the Jeff Beck Group broke up right before Woodstock, and Zeppelin I was released that same year.

I'm pretty much becoming obsessed with Sticky Fingers. Brown Sugar, Sway, Can't You Hear Me Knockin, Bitch, Moonlight Mile. Awesome album :thumb:

exactly.

zeppelin took the idea of covering you shook me from truth. it was a really underhanded thing to do, too. apparently, when zeppelin I came out, beck confronted page with tears in his eyes.

but yeah. jeff beck group before zeppelin.
