A band can be generic and still be good. When people say "generic", they usually mean "bland" or "lacking substance".

Personally, I find Botch to be just as generic as most other stuff.

and I mean, i wouldn't mind people saying "i hate this band" or i really can't stand this album but there's always a "you f[i]u[/i]cktard" or "you're really dumb go kill yourself" tagged on the end. trolling ftl.

I didn't say botch was bad, and didn't even mean they were bland, i meant they were generic. They fall into the metalcore genre without bringing too much different stuff to the table. I love botch as much as the next guy.

That's because they were the ones that brought it to the table originally.

They're not completely terrible like parkway drive, but there just a bit average.

still on the fence about converge, ive listened to jane doe a few times now and i like it a lot more then the first time i heard it but like i said still on the fence about em. Is No Heroes better or worse than Jane Doe?

No Heroes is more varied, IMO. I like it more, but a lot of people seem to like Jane Doe more than No Heroes.

Why do so many people puss about the vocals?

im the kind of music listener that i need a LOT of variation on all sides of the music, and IN MY OPINION (please no one get butt hurt) i feel the vocals sound the same in every single song. I get bored with them quickly. again thats just my opinion. but i am giving them a chance i am listening to thier stuff and making my judgements based on that
i will say i like them a lot more now, then when i first heard them.
