Sup badtaste welcome to s&l dude

The tips and questions thread seems a bit redundant now that we've got a new modality in the forums.

If its only a little question, they could ask in the community thread. Maybe put something in the rules about it.

I finished that case study btw.

I'll try and do some critting soon, but I've got to pack for uni/get drunk/ unpack at uni

badtaste 09-07-2007 10:17 AM

Yeah, working through your analysis now. Interesting stuff. Thanks for the welcome as well.

RunAmokRampant 09-07-2007 06:06 PM

Another Melbournite. Welcome.

I've gave almost 10 crits yesterday.

Surf 09-09-2007 10:40 AM

I've moved into my house, but no internet yet.

Currently stealing it from my neighbours, so posting might be sporadic for a few days.

i am the robots 09-09-2007 06:59 PM

Haha, pirates on teh intarwebs.

slack 09-09-2007 07:08 PM

Good idea moving the LC challenge to the main page. :thumb:

My computer died; that's why I haven't around much lately. I started taking classes again, though, and for English Comp. we have to keep a journal and share it in groups, which blows. The teacher says to forget about writing for an audience--to just get it out on paper--but that's pretty fricken' hard in practice.

i am the robots 09-09-2007 07:24 PM

Sucks about the computer.

You should make a contribution to my remake of Nostalgia's thread in R&M so we can get some serious discussions in before the black metal fags spam it up again, so that it won't just get deleted this time.

TheBigMachine 09-10-2007 04:32 AM

Man, I hate writing about topics like sport.
They're just so dull. Damn english teachers.

Whats going on in here lads and ladies?

RunAmokRampant 09-10-2007 06:09 PM

Man, I remember English. Nasty, nasty.

Do Make Gray Pink 09-11-2007 01:43 AM

I'm glad my idea about moving LC is well-received.

What now Tojes?

:p

TojesDolan 09-11-2007 09:38 AM

Vote I guess.

Or get your reg account again =(

RunAmokRampant 09-11-2007 08:18 PM

We should so have a lyrical gang war with the S&L forum on ug. That would sweet as.

i am the robots 09-11-2007 08:43 PM

The S&L forum on UG is terrible.

UG is like, bizarro 04 MX.

RunAmokRampant 09-11-2007 11:24 PM

Then we will cane their asses with our lyrical prowess. lol

i am the robots 09-12-2007 12:23 AM

yes we shall, im lol internet on ug btw

TheBigMachine 09-12-2007 03:53 AM

This is one of the best quality s&l forums on the net imo.

RunAmokRampant 09-12-2007 04:13 AM

how many have you been on then? lol. Quality isn't that special here, not terrible, but it has gone downhill for a while now.

TheBigMachine 09-12-2007 04:23 AM

That came out wrong.
It has the largest group of really good writers I've seen in one place, though most of them have buggered off now. Tojes, Surf, yourself FA(i think is still around) are all still present of course, but alot of the other really good writers have gone.

i am the robots 09-12-2007 04:38 AM

agreed

dont forget sloth :p

RunAmokRampant 09-12-2007 07:00 AM

That's what I meant by it's going downhill. I miss the LC when there were 15-20 entries and at least 2 thirds of them were exceptional.

Sloth is/was a good writer even with that little plagiarism scandal thingo. It's funny that Joshmay is still a mod and I haven't seen him post here in ages.

i am the robots 09-12-2007 05:14 PM

Word. Sloth was a cool guy too. Sucks he doesn't post here much anymore.

Eliminator 09-12-2007 05:16 PM

i use to post here all the time when it didnt suck

RunAmokRampant 09-13-2007 04:26 AM

The only reason it 'sucks' is because people don't post in here anymore. Or post consistently like they used to.

TojesDolan 09-13-2007 04:14 PM

I don't critique I should critique more =(

RunAmokRampant 09-13-2007 05:34 PM

Yer u lazy bum.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 06:22 PM

yeah i never critique anymore

Eliminator 09-13-2007 06:58 PM

i should write but naah

i am the robots 09-13-2007 07:05 PM

i suck at writing mores than normal lately

Eliminator 09-13-2007 07:08 PM

i haven't written a song in like half a year

http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=519084

i think that was it

Surf 09-13-2007 07:37 PM

^I liked that one

I haven't written much lately. Waiting for my creative writing classes to start now, but i've got a few things floating around in my head. light houses, background photographs and religion. same old crap

SINUOUS CUM

Eliminator 09-13-2007 07:38 PM

sloth wasn't good anyway

Surf 09-13-2007 07:44 PM

His writing was ok, but he seemed a cool guy. At least when he wasn't plagiarising.

Picked up If I Should Fall From Grace With God on vinyl the other day. Awesome.

RunAmokRampant 09-13-2007 07:56 PM

Reading 'Utilitarianism' by John Stuart Mill. It's okay but I prefer other more extremist political philosophers like Machiavelli, Rousseau, or Marx. Not because I agree with them, but I find their ideas more amusing.

Surf 09-13-2007 07:58 PM

I've decided that I don't read enough non-fiction so I've picked up the God Delusion. Its written pretty well, and its talking about ideas I've been edging towards lately. Dawkins is a bit of a twat though.

Got The Satanic Verses for after that.

RunAmokRampant 09-13-2007 08:05 PM

The Satanic Verses is killer.

Speaking of the God Delusion, some Mormons rang the front door and I opened the door while I had teh book in my hand in plain sight and they looked at it, sighed, and walked off.

TheBigMachine 09-14-2007 01:29 AM

Ha! Classic man, classic.
I don't read much here, boarding is school isnt the best environment to be reading in, especially when it comes to books with depth. It's to hard to concentrate. And you can't have the lights on because everyone is trying to sleep. Oh well.

Im reading the Betrayal trinity by Fiona McIntosh, just started the first book. Its not to bad so far, has anyone else read it?

On a side note, Im going to post something now.
Maybe even critique.

Good lord.

Ulysses is epic. It took me ages to read. But it gives me good quotes for my facebook status

Huw is the snotgreen sea. The scrotum tightening sea.

Dostoyevski I found really dry. Only read the Idiot though. Dr Jekyll I haven't read in years and years.

Might do some critting seeing as this is the first time I've been properly sober in a week or so.

Put a new piece up. Not sure why.
