Why would you regret it?

Speaking of seeing Opeth, I still don't have anyone to go with.
Hey, Im going to see them alone :p 'Coz none of my mates like that music. Ugh. I had to get my sister to come and see Audioslave with me, and then I got my cousin to see System of a Down...(Neither of them like that type of music)

Deth 10-18-2005 06:06 AM

My friend says he'll buy a ticket, but he's taking a hell of a long time to do it.

2,700th post :)

epihasi 10-18-2005 06:19 AM

How the hell can you people post so much?
Anyway, WHEN is my fave song at the moment. Along with APRIL ETHEREAL.
I live in China, so the chance of Opeth coming here on tour is 1/10000.
Lucky bastards!

i am the robots 10-18-2005 06:52 AM

So you're a fan of My Arms Your Hearse Epihasi?

Sixty Ton Angel 10-18-2005 08:48 AM

I might try and get some of my mates to go see them with me as a birthday gift :)

They'll probably like the music anyway, well, some of them.....

If all is well I should be going on Nov 28th.

Holy fuk, The Glasgow gig? That's when I'm goin.

Sixty Ton Angel 10-18-2005 08:54 AM

No man, that's the 29th I believe.
The 28th is in Leeds....I think :s

Other way around dude.

Sixty Ton Angel 10-18-2005 09:05 AM

I stand corrected :)

Either way I'd still claim it was for my birthday gift ;)
How did Darkness get 15 posts ahead of me?
Sorry man. :upset:

Killtacular 10-18-2005 04:32 PM

Today I realized that Opeth doesn't make good driving music if it only takes about 1.5 minutes to get where you're going.

Yeah, the vocals won't even come in with lots of songs...

ok lateralus 10-18-2005 04:42 PM

Is it just me or is Deliverance underrated as hell? Amazing album, one of their best

Darkness 10-18-2005 04:43 PM

Agreed. :D

ok lateralus 10-18-2005 04:45 PM
Agreed. :D
Glad to see another fan of the album, most people say it's their worst. Which reminds me, you know whats so great about opeth, it's that all their albums are so amazing, I can't even pick my least favorite. I would say before Blackwater Park but I listened to it last night and it is amazing. And though some would say Orchid, I love that too. Its rare a band has 8 albums and all of them are pure genius. :D

repcak 10-18-2005 04:51 PM

i just ordered my Opeth tickets for the 17.12 :D :D :D

Ditch your car, get your MP3 player and walk. It's not that far. Good exercise +good music = happy Scruples. :thumb:

thats what i do all the time... i never go outside without my mp3-player and the longer i have to go the better

I don't have an MP3 player, and people don't walk to places around here. There's not even anywhere to walk, I'd be on the edge of the road, causing angry people to swear and make obscene gestures at me.

You live in a weird place. My sympathies.

Shadows 10-18-2005 06:15 PM

I don't have an mp3 player either. Something about them is just a turnoff for me. I download music all the time, but I never take music with me unless it's a purchased CD. All the places I need to go to are way too far for me to walk, so I'll just get a car stereo.

NP: The Leper Affinity

I had no idea how fucking amazing this song was.

Shattered_Future 10-18-2005 06:33 PM

The Leper Affinity is ungodly...that opening riff is one of the best I've heard. SOOO evil.

Very fun to sing along with. :D

I never leave my house without my iPod. It may seem cliche (everybody has an iPod), but I actually make good use of mine. It's completely full...I have to keep deleting stuff to put new stuff on. :upset:

Killtacular 10-18-2005 06:45 PM

On a side note, Deliverance owns.

I think I may like it more than Blackwater Park now.

I find I may be incountering this same problem...

Killtacular 10-18-2005 06:48 PM

It's a sickness, man, I'm tellin' ya.

Shadows 10-18-2005 06:49 PM

Perhaps I should give that another try. I haven't listened to it in over a year, and at the time I liked it as little as Blackwater Park, which I've just found I love.

Darkness 10-18-2005 06:49 PM

I know, it seems so blasphamus.... maybe we should delete our posts before someone sees..

Killtacular 10-18-2005 07:00 PM

No, I think it's high time we take a stand against those Blackwater Park folks.

Deth 10-18-2005 07:07 PM

I personally am not one of those BWP boys. Great album, but far from their best.

Darkness 10-18-2005 07:07 PM
I personally am not one of those BWP boys. Great album, but far from their best.
Not far, but its not the bands best effort, like most people say.

Killtacular 10-18-2005 07:10 PM

I'd say Blackwater Park is about... fourth in line. Maybe fifth.

I need to listen to Orchid more.

Deth 10-18-2005 07:14 PM

Me too, it always seems to fall to the wayside in the wake of Still Life and Morningrise. I feel bad for it really.

Still Life is just such a large ammount better than BP, it's sickening.

very underrated. I love Wreath especially, many people just do not like that song. It's one of the most depressing songs I've ever heard Opeth make. You can't beat that solo man, it's just too powerful, I CAN FEEL IT!

Deth 10-18-2005 07:22 PM
Still Life is just such a large ammount better than BP, it's sickening.
I completely agree. Since getting Still Life, I've barely listened to BWP.

The 2nd solo? Yes, its "metal madness" like the reviewer on sputknick said. :D :thumb: Amazing song. Nothing beats the emotion that Mikeal has when he's screaming his ass off near the end with the 2 different vocals... its great.

Killtacular 10-18-2005 07:24 PM

I love the opening riff to Master's Apprentice. Such heaviness.

Kaiwaz 10-18-2005 07:25 PM

I think Blackwater Park is Opeth's peak album. Not only does it cover a lot of ground, but shows the listener Opeth's evolution. I like it a lot, brilliant writing. I never used to like it as much as I do now.

Deth 10-18-2005 07:25 PM

I think my new favorite Opeth solo is The Funeral Portrait. Or White Cluster, it's so different to any other of their solos.

Darkness 10-18-2005 07:28 PM

Definatly the best starting point for someone new, but once you get more in depth in the band, you will learn to understand/appreciate the other stuff a lot more.
