Nick Drake
He's like sex twice. With an unbelievably attractive girl. |
Andrew Bird - The Mysterious Production Of Eggs
I'm really liking this. |
I'm going to see Apocalyptica, so I am getting ready for that :-D
|
Yes. I've listened to the three longest tracks on Fragile now, so I would probably want to get the whole album now. Chalk it up to yet another purchase I NEED to make:
Mr. Bungle- California Melvins- Houdini Iron Maiden- Killers Yes- Fragile Ugh, and then I need to get the new SOAD and Coheed albums when they come out. Why must I be cursed with a terrible attraction to weird and/or cheesy bands? |
I heard that new Coheed single. Epic stuff.
|
King Brothers - Blues
Nobuo Uematsu & Shiro Hamaguchi - Final Fantasy VII Piano Collections Just got these both awhile ago. Sweet. |

This is an album that I don't listen to enough. I really enjoy it whenever I break it out, but I just don't do it very frequently. |
Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans
The Filaments - Skull and trombones Slowdive - Souvlaki |
I heard alot about Slowdive lately...what are they like?
Currently into: Sebadoh (great band, vastly underrated) Triggerfinger (good Belgian band...better than Millionaire IMO) Cake Presidents Of The USA Siouxsie & The Banshees The Delgados Thomas Dybdahl & That Great October Sound Zero 7 |
Slowdive...they're pretty mellow, My Bloody Valentine-esque, with quiet vocals on top of guitar noise. I guess you'd call them noise rock, or shoegaze.
I'm not good with descriptions, but they're really good. And to continue with the questions...what are Presidents of the USA like? I've heard a song by them, called Peaches, which was kinda fun, but i never checked an album or anything. Any worth getting? |
I like MBV...so I think I'll check Slowdive out.
The Presidents of the USA ae a fun altrock/pop rock band from Seattle, that write goofy, catchy tunes. They really have a cool sound, sometimes they play with guitars and bass guitars that only have two or three snares, to add to their quirkiness. "Peaches" is they most wellknown song....but "Dune Buggy", "Kitty" and "Volcano" are also nice tunes...they recently came back together but their new material isn't as good as the stuff they released before they broke up. |
Sounds fun, i'll try and get my hands on one of their pre break-up releases.
|
I downloaded "Some Velvet Morning" and I wasn't too impressed...it sounds kind of stagnant. One of that traits that I like about My Bloody Valentine (especially on the album Loveless) is that the melody seemed to move slightly out of control at times...as if the sound was alive and had it's own consciousness. That was part of it's beauty. Then again...it's had to fathom that the song I heard is Slowdive's best...so I'm going to down some more stuff.

Orb! where have you been?
My neighbours recently decided to wake me from my cryogenic tomb when they couldn't stand the loud music anymore. :thumb: I'm sure glad you're still here Nacho...I was afraid this place might've become overloaded with spamming by now... |
I'm still here too, and it's cool to see you posting again.
|
Its actually very nice to see you. We've all just become random obessive people dividing our time between real life and this click click existance.
|
The Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?

Things change...I was a bit close-minded then. It's great to see so many old faces still here :D |
Man, now we just need Tapeworm and modrock back and Alt and Indie will be like the old days.
|
These are some songs I'm liking at the moment.
Aphex Twin - 4 Autechre - Arch Carrier Cursive - The Recluse Mew - Am I Wry No Slint - Good Morning, Captain Tweaker - Microsize Boy |
The Residents and Sir Millard Mulch have my attention at the moment.
|
The Residents and Sir Millard Mulch have my attention at the moment.
They're bboth great.
Lately I've mainly been listen to Mad Sin (a great German Psychobilly band) and Madeline (a cool folk singer). |
Sir Millard Mulch is so full of himself. My brother talks to him on another forum.
Is his full CD actually out yet? I grew up listening to the residents. A few years ago I was really into them. They were my favorite band of all time. It's been awhile since I've really listened to them again. I am loving World/Inferno Friendship Society right now. I have all their CD's downloaded and intend to buy every one of them. |
I'm not a big fan of anything Wire did after Pink Flag.
|
Muggs - Dust (3/5)
It's okay, I guess. Really inconsistent. Still, a couple of great songs. Martha Wainwright - Martha Wainwright (3.5/5) Could have been something really special if she switched up the pace a little more. |
I am loving World/Inferno Friendship Society right now. I have all their CD's downloaded and intend to buy every one of them.
They're amazing.
What's your favourite album? In my opinion East Coast Supersound Punk of Today is their best album easily. Just The Best Party and A Lexicon of Friends and Enemies are both great too. The True Stroy Of The Bridgewater Astral League has some good songs but isn't up to the standard of the others. |
