Hey, where do you live in Maryland? Steerpike goes to college there.
In Silver Spring, where does he go to school?

Bartender 04-27-2005 04:38 AM

Just got an email from the secretary for the school of philosophy (who goes by the name of Kitty, though I'm not sure she meant to tell us that), telling me that my Elementary Logic class at 2pm (my only class for today) has been cancelled. And so I rejoice :)

Got to find something to do to fill the time, though. Suggestions, anyone?

If there's even anyone online, that is :(

munky_magik 04-27-2005 04:42 AM

You could always go CD shopping.

magicbus 04-27-2005 04:43 AM

I wouldn't have any suggestions, because I still have to go to school today :upset:

In fact, I'd better start getting ready.

I don't have to be in school for another 2 hours. I don't even know what the hell I'm doing up at this time :-/

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 04-27-2005 04:45 AM

Climb a tree. :)

I have to go school in a hour and haven't any sleep. :(

Write a two chord song.
Find a rhyme for orange.
Engage in quiet reflection.
Study.
Get a game of pool and sink a few cold ones.

I think the answer is logical, but as your course is cancelled.............

I could, yeah. I'd kinda like to as well, but I don't have that much money.

Well actually, that's a total lie. I've got almost £300 spare at the moment (my grandma gave me £200 for no real reason a few days ago), but I need to save some at the moment, for the summer.

Lord Abortion 04-27-2005 05:11 AM

logic eh?

beer replaces logic

spaghetti and custard at 1am when drunk anyone?

Ali knows who I reference here...

What nonsense is this?

Pratchett, Unless I am mistaken.

Which bit, the free money or the saving?

I need to save some because, barring some kind of job, I won't be getting any money over the summer, and I have a mother's birthday (as well as a holiday) to supply money for.

munky_magik 04-27-2005 05:46 AM

I was talking about the saving.
I am actually quite shocked by this :-/

I seem to remember it involving Rincewind, possibly Twoflower, a hangover and a stable.

I had a Chicago Town Pizza. They amaze me in the way that they go from frozen solid, to burning hot without traversing through any middle ground.

Kingofdudes 04-27-2005 06:00 AM

I want to buy some CDs, it has been a long time since I have. But I need to save money for this

What, that I'm not just out buying more CDs for once?

To be honest, I have an altogether lazier motive too; going and buying CDs involves quite a bit of walking to get to any decent stores, and since I've been unexpectedly given a day off, I want to stay in.

That's fair enough. I have alot of travelling to do to get to mine.
Train ride, then a good lot of walking up and down hills.

Hehe, I just got kicked out of Geometry for saying "fuck" repeatedly. At first, I didn't mean to, I was just talking with some friends of mine, and that word seems to come out of my mouth a lot as an impulse. So the first couple of times I say "fuck" inadvertantly, my teacher tells me to watch my language. I say "Oh, OK. I'll stop." Next thing you know, I'm back to talking and cussing up a storm. So my teacher gets pissed and gives me a warning. I said I would stop and for a while I did. Then next thing you know, "fuck" reappeared in my vocabulary. So the teacher sent me outside and had me sit there. I was like "what am I, a friggin' dunce?". So I just repeatedly said "fuck"as loud as I could because I'm such a smartass. He kicked me out, and here I am in the library.

 nice. I'm glad I did every part of the testing (that doesn't affect me anyway) yesterday. My teacher wouldn't let me come back to class...because we have to be in the same class for testing, it's like a block schedule:

Day One
Period one for 73 minutes
*
Brunch for 14 minutes
*
Testing in Period 2 for two hours (120 minutes)
*
Lunch for 34 minutes
*
Period 3 for 73 minutes
*
Period 5 for 73 minutes

Then the next day you repeat the process, but with periods 2, 4, and six. Fun, fun, fun.

(June 15, June 15, June 15...)

It's as if school is an endless cycle of failures of adults asserting themselves upon kids.

This school is, it's in danger of being taken over by the government.

Good thing I'm moving out the day after school ends

Shred Danson 04-27-2005 11:25 AM

God, I'm too friggin' tired to argue...

So what's up? Is this thread always this slow at this time of the day?

Bartender 04-27-2005 11:27 AM

Yep, more or less.

You could always just talk about music if you're really stuck for something to do, though.

shortass 04-27-2005 11:27 AM

Yes it is always this slow
