k, ill get Nightfall. that was what i thought of getting but wasnt sure if there was a better album to get. thanks

pate 11-13-2007 06:31 PM

Nightfall, Epicus, Tales of Creation, Ancience Dreams

In that order.

Iron Bars 11-14-2007 03:09 AM

I still think From the 13th Sun is underrated.

NP: Count Raven - Let the dead bury the dead

pate 11-14-2007 09:06 AM

I agree, but I wouldn't call it essential.

Iron Bars 11-14-2007 10:33 AM

I would, because it shows another side of Candlemass that would otherwise remain unknown, instead of naming albums that are great but sound similar.

ATM 11-14-2007 01:36 PM

Om were incredible last night.

the2stranger 11-14-2007 01:39 PM

You go too a lot of good shows. :(
I had to miss Nadja a few months back because I was in norway. :(:(

Mexican Bandito 11-14-2007 01:42 PM

Went to see Orange Goblin the other night in York.
They put on an awesome show. The little venue was packed.
I got the set list from Joe :D

ATM 11-14-2007 01:42 PM

:(

Just being able to hear the guys from Sleep, it was amazing.

I really wanted to buy Holy Mountain on vinyl but didn't have the money.

Al Cisneros' bass tone is immense.

the2stranger 11-14-2007 01:45 PM

That's why I always take massive ammount of money with me to gigs.
I always hope to buy some ultra limited stuff, but that hasn't happened yet.

ATM 11-14-2007 01:47 PM

I would have bought an Om shirt but they only had ones with the cover of Pilgrimage.

There's an awesome little local label here that stocks a heap of hard to find Australian stuff, which I'm always after. Everytime they put on a show I'm pretty much broke for the following week. Bastards...

That Colosseum you showed me was great, btw. I'll probably look into getting the full length in a few months.

I'm the exact opposite. I've never bought anything at a show. The closest I've been was when I was little and my dad bought stuff for me when we went to shows.

ATM 11-14-2007 03:15 PM

When I drink too much I end up buying all of the bands albums

Tyr 11-14-2007 03:19 PM

Well, I don't drink at shows, so that's not a problem. Granted, I hardly go to shows at all, since it's too expensive.

ATM 11-14-2007 03:21 PM

Around here is not too bad. Om was 12 dollars, Weedeater was 8, etc

dUSK 11-14-2007 03:24 PM

^ Too expensive? What do you only got out for Iron Maiden or something? Cheap local/national shows ftmfw.
When I drink too much I end up buying all of the bands albums

Yeah, gets me from time to time. Problem with it is that I will leave the venue during a break, hit up an ATM, go back and buy stuff. But when I wake up the next day and look in my wallet, they're still be money there. Then I realise I have half a dozen new albums sitting on my desk and a new shirt or something, and it's all "Oh shi...". :upset:

Tyr 11-14-2007 03:25 PM

That's cheap! Here you'll have to shell out at least 200 SEK (about 30 USD), probably closer to or sometimes over 300 SEK. I think the cheapest tickets to Rush cost 450 SEK and the most expensive 650 SEK.

ATM 11-14-2007 03:26 PM

I understand. When I lived in Norway I didn't go to a single show.

Shattered_Future 11-15-2007 03:04 PM

I usually have to shell out 30+ bucks for shows since Ticketmaster rapes you with service charges...

Although the last show we went to (RX Bandits) we just bought tickets at the door for 15 bucks. It was great. We'll probably go back to that place in February to see High On Fire.

pate 11-15-2007 03:40 PM

The cheapest show I've been to was Opeth that was like 16 bucks.

EDIT: Before Ticketbastard charges.

Eliminator 11-15-2007 03:41 PM

cheapest show i've been to was FREE

Iron Bars 11-15-2007 04:07 PM

Cheapest: Mastodon for 10 euro's but most of the times it's about 20 to 30 euro's.

Nostalgia 11-15-2007 05:13 PM

I think I got to see Jesu for like 8 dollars or so.

Shattered_Future 11-15-2007 05:42 PM

Hmmm...High on Fire aren't terrible. Not the best music in the world, but they'd be pretty fun to see live, I'd bet. Show's only 12 bucks too.

the2stranger 11-16-2007 10:38 AM

Cheaps small gigs ftw!
I usually don't spend more then 20 euros on a ticket.

I really need to go to gigs more.

np: Nadja - Mutagen.
I'm really enjoying the re-done album. :)

Eliminator 11-16-2007 03:09 PM

i download Touched earlier but it isn't working

however
