The bands shouldn't be compared.

You're an idiot. Look at some tabs and you'll see that it isn't 'random' notes. What the hell do you mean by 'random' anyway? Like everytime they play a song live, it's different or something? They play their songs the same way everytime (sometimes they vary in structure eg. intros and outros) they play live.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 10:11 PM

I don't like them, but I can respect that they play... "weirdly."

This.

And I wasn't comparing them, I was stating my opinion on both.

I haven't heard this suposedly horrible new DEP singer; is he that bad?

big80smullet 09-13-2007 10:52 PM

I like Dillinger! I also like unearth! I dont really see any comparison between the two. I hope the new singer isn't as bad as you're making out!

RunAmokRampant 09-14-2007 01:06 AM

Uh, its the same singer from Miss Machine.

antihippy 09-14-2007 01:21 AM

screaming doesn't equal screamo.

dep's singer is alright.

Oh i thought i missed something. Hes alright!

Iceman-rocker 09-14-2007 07:05 AM

would you consider Parkway Drive a metalcore band?

i just think of them as thrash metal with hardcore influence
but all the basic elements of metalcore are there.

antihippy 09-14-2007 09:04 AM

where did you get the thrash metal from? they just sound like regular metalcore to me.

big80smullet 09-14-2007 10:39 AM

They're alright. I also don't get the thrash element. Would anyone consider Between The Buried And Me metalcore? Cause my brother calls them that and i wanna prove him wrong. CAuse i dont think they are.

ATM 09-14-2007 10:44 AM

I missed the Intronaut talk :(

I actually spent like 20 mins talking to their bassist outside a show once, he was awesome

[QUOTE=antihippy;15282198]screaming doesn't equal screamo.

there is sort of an "screamo scream"

like, hot cross did it, as cities burn's old singer did it, envy's singer does it, a lot of bands use that type of scream, like voice cracky sounding.

Invicta_Veritas 09-14-2007 12:09 PM

The same singer from MM? What's the problem then? He's not that bad.

//has only heard MM.

they just improvise with aboout 5 scales at a time and track it onto their computers and then learn how to play it later, probably.

I doubt they actually "write" their riffs.

LifeInABox 09-14-2007 01:54 PM

Yeah, that's definatly why they play live, right?

Wow, that's the most ignorant thing I've ever said. That's exactly how everybody acts about metal in general who doesn't get metal.
