Yeah, DaveToopes is kind of misleading.

Skidmark Steve 12-10-2005 05:09 PM

I got jumped last night

Brain Toad 12-10-2005 05:14 PM

So I just came back from a record store up in Sacramento called The Beat. Went up there to get tickets to a Tempest concert in Janurary, but also bought some CDs

Johnny Cash - Sings Hank Williams and Other Favorite Tunes
Hank Williams III - Risin' Outlaw
Dead Kennedys - Frankenchrist

The Frankenchrist is my 3rd copy of the album on CD. It's an Alternative Tentacles release so I was hopeing for a poster, but none. But it is different then the other AT release of it I have, which is odd, so I may just keep it. I'm such a DK whore, I think I'm going to take a picture of all the stuff of theirs I own.

Brain Toad 12-10-2005 05:32 PM

Three copies of Frankenchrist?

Brain Toad 12-10-2005 05:36 PM
Three copies of Frankenchrist?
One is a remaster released on Manifesto (the one on the right) The other two are Alternative Tentacles relases, the middle one looks older then the one on the left, which I just bought today, both in hopes of getting the poster. Both have little order forms in the booklets for the posters, but I'm not sure if it's still good and if its even true.

And the Bedtime for Democracy is a Alternative Tentacles release, the rest are Manifesto remaster reissues.

EDIT: Middle one is remaster, one on far right is older AT release.

Liebensaft 12-10-2005 05:37 PM

I'd love to have Fresh Fruit on vinyl, even though I don't have a record player.

Wish mine wasn't a remaster reissue. But I bought even with my family record player not working.

My Johnny Cash stuff is slowly catching up to my DK stuff. 2 shirts, 4 CDs and 2 vinyls.

pedro durruti 12-10-2005 05:42 PM

Ahh man Richard Pryor died today?? That guy was awesome. And I was just thinking about Brewster's Millions too.

Great film.

What JC shirts do you have Nick? I have one which looks like a Che shirt with his face but I want the Up Yours one from San Quentin.

Brain Toad 12-10-2005 05:44 PM

I heard about Pryor on the radio. Wasn't a huge fan, but he was still pretty funny.

Brain Toad 12-10-2005 05:49 PM

no way?! are you serious, that guy was so funny. good comedians keep dying. why cant lame ones like bill engvall die.

RIP

Brain Toad 12-10-2005 06:51 PM

Larry the Cable Guy needs to die more than Engvall, I like him sometimes. But then again, I'm a redneck and also enjoy Foxworthy.

Not Larry The Cable Guy?

Oh well. requiescat in pacem, Richard Pryor.

Anxious 12-10-2005 07:00 PM

I think I need to replace my Black Flag shirt. Maybe with a "The Process of Weeding Out" one.

BostonBound988 12-10-2005 07:04 PM

ive seen the cable guy live and have to totally dissagree i think he can be pretty god damn funny...but yeah bill engvall is pretty shatty.

Anxious 12-10-2005 07:05 PM

I've never laughed in my entire life.

BostonBound988 12-10-2005 07:05 PM

i thing larry is ok because hes just so damn stupid, it might all be an act, but i like it. engvall is just plain old not funny. he tells lame jokes, and sounds like a crappy foxworthy ripoff. even "heres your sign" gets old after awhile

BostonBound988 12-10-2005 07:10 PM

yeah exactly...even keeping in mind that the whole dumb larry thing may just be an act...he can still pull it off..so it doesnt make too much of a difference.

David Cross & George Carlin > all living comedians

Anxious 12-10-2005 08:13 PM

David Cross is the guy on Arrested Development, right? Hes funny.

Brain Toad 12-10-2005 08:14 PM
David Cross is the guy on Arrested Development, right? Hes funny.
Yeah, but I don't watch Arrested Devlopment myself.

Mr. Show was awesome though.

BostonBound988 12-10-2005 08:17 PM

i do love george carlin

Brain Toad 12-10-2005 08:19 PM

My dad has some Carlin vinyls. He also has Cheech & Chong ones.

and some Cosby. His standup is actually pretty funny if you like the whole family jokes thing.

BostonBound988 12-10-2005 08:21 PM

i have actually never heard his stand up. as far as current comedians go i love frank caliendo (hes also on mad TV) he does some of the best impressions ive ever seen

sketchyjoe 12-10-2005 08:23 PM

Eddie Izzard and Bill Bailey are the best comedians around today. Cross is good but too full of himself sometimes. Carlin is good but I get bored with him quickly.

Brain Toad 12-10-2005 08:27 PM

Bailey is ok, but I love Izzard.

sketchyjoe 12-10-2005 08:28 PM
