Alright cool. My friend's a big black metal fan, and he rules at bass. He sounded excited when I showed him the thread.

Last question before I go, when do the entries need to be in by?

RCA 03-24-2005 03:37 PM

I'll do a one-manned goregrind song entitled "My Cunt Is Throbbing Mad With Anger And A Bad Case Of Herpes".

No no no, you can can have your guitarist with his guitar put down the riffs. Unless all you guys have acoustics....time in two weeks.

RCA 03-24-2005 03:40 PM

Wait, I just saw the thread.

I'll make it gr1m.

Lol, the themes black metal. So no Goregrind, unless it has a clear black metal influence.

And GurS: You can in fact do it by acoustic, if you check some of Vargs stuff...atmosphere is an important factor of black metal...hell any genere

GurS 03-24-2005 03:41 PM

Mu guitarist is one of those elitist cunts :(

I'll try the acoustic black metal if you want

RiceMonster 03-24-2005 03:41 PM

I'm almost done writting a black metal song actually. I have nothing to record with though. Sorry Ramsey. :upset:

Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:41 PM

Go ahead. I think some of Burzums stuff is acoustic, with alot of atmostphere....

Joe 03-24-2005 03:42 PM

well great idea ramsey (i'd rep you but it was taken away awhile ago)

so are we gunna have a bunch of competitors? i wanna hear songs...

so now that we're doing this whole recording thing, what do you guys have to record? i use cakewalk '03 except i plug it right into my comp (epiphone SG --> dunlop crybaby --> boss super chorus --> boss metal zone --> computer) so the sound isn't very good

Mic and guitar amp?

You don't really need drums although it would help...

And you can simulate real drums if you really tried...(again ask CJ)

I would use my POD and cakewalk and Fruity loops except my computer broke down :upset:

RCA 03-24-2005 03:44 PM

Anyone know any programs I can use to do drums? I know of no drummers in my area.

Well, I don't have a mic. I may be able to borrow one from my guitar teacher, so we'll see.

Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:46 PM

Yep. If you have bit tornado you can download Fruity Loops studio. Or you can go the midi route and get midi drums from Guitar Pro 4 (which are alright really, its not bad, again ask CJ about this, I don't know crap about midi).

You can get Fruity Loops from ArrestThisMan, he posts here frequently.

well if he's got a mic he's probably got a way to record. if he's nice enough like that maybe he'll record something for ya :thumb:

munky_magik 03-24-2005 03:49 PM

I use: Guitar etc... > POD 2.0 > Graphic EQ > Cubase SX.

RCA 03-24-2005 03:49 PM

Ah, thanks.

Joe 03-24-2005 03:52 PM

I'm not sure he'll be to keen on recording black metal when he hears it (he plays mostly blues, rock, and folk), even though he is a very nice guy. I think he has a drum machine (or something along those lines) as well. I'm pretty sure I can borrow either, because heres a quote from him "If you and matt(friend who also tackes lessons from him) ever get your band going, and get a gig, you can borrow my sound system" By that he means amps, PA and pretty much all the sweet stuff he has for gigs.

Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:53 PM

It hasn't been updated in like forever

Whoa man, that is really sweet. If he lets you use his recording stuff, then you'd have a better submission than most of the users (granted you can write a decent black metal song)
