Why do you(Walrus) have Quebec's slogan as your usertitle?

/curious

Where has Ray been?

Walrus Gumboot 11-13-2005 05:37 PM
Do you want me to send you audacity? That's the recording program I use, and you can record a lot longer than MS sound recorder, and do layers too.
I would, but my computer won't let me d/l anything besides music
It won't let me do e-mail or AIM either, I figure it'll crash in a few days
I can get MS Recorder to work for longer than :60, if you leave it at :55 you can pause it and wair for it to take up more time
Something like that. I think my school has Garage Band, and I will too after this one crashes again and my folks buy a new computer

Maybe I'll go to McGill

Broken Arrow 11-13-2005 05:50 PM

I see, Quebec's ok, been there a few times.

I used to be in Jazz band for trumpet but our music program has a new director who is horrible.

That's the story of every school's life, it seems.

PinkFreud 11-13-2005 06:32 PM

my middle school had an awesome conductor. then he left to become a truck driver. weird.

Woodstock 11-13-2005 06:48 PM
haha, that sounds awesome.

I usually keep my viynl downstairs but I have three on display in my room for some reason.

They are:
Aoxomoxoa
After the Goldrush
Obscured By Clouds

Downstairs I have my Quicksilver Messenger Service collection on display. (only 3 albums) :(
I only have one QMS vinyl, s/t. The cover was holographic but that's mostly worn away. But I forgive the damage since it still sounds great.

thickasabrick 11-13-2005 06:57 PM

Does anyone think The Byrds version of It's All Over Now, Baby Blue is one of the worst covers of any Bob Dylan song ever done? I prefer Avril Lavignes version of Knockin' On Heaven's Door. Although RHCP's cover of Subterranean Homesick Blues is basically unrecognizable (for better or worse).

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-13-2005 07:13 PM

I don't like most of their covers of him. I don't recall that particular song but I'm listening to The Byrds Play Dylan right now.

After almost 20 hours I've finally gotton Bringing It All Back Home to download right. I can't wait to listen to it the last time was before Summer of this year. :D

Broken Arrow 11-13-2005 07:58 PM

I don't like BotT as much as other people do.

My albums on display:
Grateful Dead Skulls/Roses
Abbey Road

Hey Jude (The Album)

I wish I had some QMS, that would be a find

barney 11-13-2005 08:07 PM

zabbit82 11-13-2005 08:10 PM

Wha...? I was under the impression that that was a fairly obscure album, how'd you get it? I found mine in a pawn shop if I remember correctly.

Albums on display? Like on your wall?

Hanging around the house, like so:
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a258/WalrusGumboot/UkuGD.jpg

My best friend's mom was a Beatles fan, she was really into Eastern Religions and the like, really cool woman. Anyway, she died this January, and my friend gave me all of her Beatles albums
I would love to see Hey Jude released on CD, the track list is great, such a combination of their new and old stuff

PinkFreud 11-13-2005 08:27 PM

i have an original la woman record cover framed, ready for my house next year.

man im excited. i already have my roomates set and we're in the process of choosing a house.

edit: oh man, i missed my 3,000th post. im not sure where it was. haha.

MBS 11-13-2005 08:30 PM

Lucky points to Walrus for having Hey Jude on Vinyl.

Sup guys? Came back from the desert and picked up Neil Young's new album. It's good stuff.

zabbit82 11-13-2005 08:31 PM

Yeah, have them display on the wall around the house or something.

So this idea I've had for a while.... I was thinking of having a border of 6'' by 6'' tiles of pictures of my favorite albums in my bedroom. The border would be 6 inches below the ceiling, and would have about 90 album pics on it (small room). I'd print them out on my computer as high resolution pictures, laminate them, and put them in a random order to put on the wall. I think it would be cool...

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-13-2005 08:31 PM

I was actualy thinking of doing that too.

That's really strange....the only vinyl I own is of LA Woman and it's framed.

How come nobody goes for vinyl on Ebay, everyone treats vinyl like rare things, when for the most part, there are lots of good albums on ebay on vinyl.

Broken Arrow 11-13-2005 08:33 PM
I wish I had some QMS, that would be a find
