"Aid work" has been going on for decades with no significant difference to be shown.

People have a hard time accepting the fact, that some groups of people are deserving of the horror of a life they generate for themselves.

Win A Rabbit 09-11-2006 05:23 PM

Money = power. Power leads to greed.

The natives did just fine for a couple thousand years living on "North America", respecting the land, living WITH the land. Until the white man came with his "money" and "power".

Cut to where we are now.

Janeway 09-11-2006 05:25 PM

Where? With discount cigarettes and casinos?

ludvista29 09-11-2006 05:27 PM

sic wheres my porcupine tree vid!!?

Chippy569 09-11-2006 05:29 PM

wow, an interesting hold discussion!

the number of bad people in the world outweigh the number of good. the best way to fight the bad people is to become the position of the bad person while remaining good.

to do that, though, is damn near impossible. Every rich boy on wall street started with good intentions...

Pespi:

With people passing off deaths around the world due to economics.

We buy (or better, yet, since money = power, we steal) your land, resources, your clean water, your breathable air, etc. And if you won't sell it to us, or put up a fight, we'll put sanctions in place to just kill you off anyways.

Think of this, of our OWN culture. You don't even have to think of some "worthless" lives that live somewhere else.

What do you think about the fact that nowadays, even in our own country, you need to buy bottled water to be sure that it's healthy. Water. The essence of life, really. What does that tell you about our culture? Was the water always polluted? Did we always need to bottle it and filter it multiple times to make it drinkable?

Oh wait? The bottled water is ON SALE??? Well that's great. What else is on my grocery list?

Economics blinds people so much from the kind of culture we live in.

And ludvista, I have to upload it again, unless you wanna pay $3 for it. I'll find a place right now, hopefully.

MXicanDrummer 09-11-2006 05:34 PM

On a side note, I once saw an add for ice cubes for sale. The company is making their way to America soon I hear, can't wait.

Janeway 09-11-2006 05:35 PM

I was just talking about the indians...

I drink tap water, too.

Edit: They have ice cubes for sale. Happy Ice.
I wouldn't eat it, though. Mostly because everybody puts their beer in it, and then they pee outside with out washing their hands even if they get a little pee on them, and they reach right back in to the bottom for the coldest beer.

you better find a place!!! :p

Drum Phil 09-11-2006 05:48 PM

I'll be quite happy to make my decisions based on places ive lived.

Try living in a few different places and all that. I generally hate england as much as america, how are we any better by chasing you into battle? I have a flag that could easily get me in a lot of trouble showing my thoughts about england.

We_Love_Lime 09-11-2006 05:49 PM

flag of Hizbollah?

That was my CS:Source spray way back when

maybe so. but the us still is the world leader, if not for stupid reasons.

Just because I'm bored, and we're kind of talking about economics blinding people, here's another Derrick Jensen quote, from a conversation between him and a friend:
"I was going to simply suggest that if an engineer and a CEO say that the cancer rate won't go up if they build a certain type of manufacturing facility, and after the facility is operational it ends up they were lying, or simply wrong, and the rate does go up-"
"You're not going to suggest prison, are you?"
"No, not at all," I responded. "I'm going to suggest a life for a life. They kill, they die. Isn't that how capital punishment is supposed to work?"
"You're not serious."
"I'd think that would be a deterrent."
"You're crazy," he said. "If they had to put their lives on the line, none of these facilities would ever be built."
I looked at him and smiled.

He feels no empathy for humans because he is apparently an alien. However he does sympathize greatly with the people in Africa.
Everything being ****ed in africa has far more to do with europe then america, that and the people keep breeding like rabbits (sad but true). How this is an eye for an eye with the US losing people I do not know.
I do not empathize with the people in Africa. I have very little idea what their situation is like. I do sympathize.
I feel empathy and sympathy for the people killed in 911 (and their families), having known what is like to unjustly lose a family member.

Quinto 09-11-2006 06:14 PM

because our country is filled with stupid people who are voting for evil men who sacrifice other countrys for their own good. it is for stupid reasons

Janeway 09-11-2006 06:18 PM

You live in Albany?

I've been there. I've taken a four hour tour through the entire capital building, and had lunch with Senator Maziarz. You should do that some time. It's very educational.

Fucking double ding. I constantly rant to my friends about the sheer magnificence/sistarity of the new word robots breeding robots world order.

How long has Wal-Mart been a company?

How much money have they made?

You figure this, over the next 1000 years, with this current phycological trend of seperation, the odds are agaisnt you to be devastated with propaganda from birth to be before you accomplish anything worthwhile.

Hahaha... but 1000 years? It would be pure mind control. Not that we are going to make it another hundred years before WW3.

Drum Phil 09-11-2006 06:26 PM

So, its now the 12th here. Therefore its a month till i see AFI.

Quinto 09-11-2006 06:27 PM

soon comes the end of the world, i think ill live to see it, and im 14

Janeway 09-11-2006 06:29 PM

I like how we assume the end of the world is going to be by our own hand.

Why can't we think of aliens anymore?
Or the Tralfamadorians blowing up the universe while researching more efficient fuel? Or zombie africans from mars seeking their revenge on the rest of the world?

Josiah 09-11-2006 06:53 PM

Nag Champa incense is awesome.

My vote for world destruction will be a change in climate that will breed super-viruses. At least, I can hope.. I'd love to be part of the 1% of the world that survives.

Win A Rabbit 09-11-2006 07:26 PM

I'm not a fan of incense. My english teacher used to burn it all the time in our classroom due to the school trading it's 3 good portables for 6 terrible ones, and ours had a terrible smell all the time. Now whenever I think of incense, I think of the incense + mouldy walls, a bad combination.

I ate stuffing for supper. I never eat stuffing. It was a leftover plate from last night that my dad didn't eat. Turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, and stuffing. I was hungry enough that I finished the first 3 and didn't feel like getting up and making myself something else.

Aaron 09-11-2006 07:32 PM

my post count is all prime numbers in reverse

We_Love_Lime 09-11-2006 07:32 PM

Nuts!

Win A Rabbit 09-11-2006 07:35 PM

Is 0 a number? A friend kept telling me it's not a number, it's a value. Anyone know for sure?

Aaron 09-11-2006 07:35 PM

now its not, o shi! how are ya limey?

edit: nah, 0 is not a number. it can't have a value otherwise the number system wouldn't work.
