Chad's username?
His main account was tehchad, but that got deleted.
He has about 9 different usernames now, and he posts on accounts that he's hijacked.

He's supposed to be banned on sight now.
That's what I meant. Anyway, the only difference between pop and pop-punk is the sound of the band.
And....? The same can be said for any two genres.

Brain Toad 12-07-2005 10:25 AM

You have a problem with the pop-punk forum? Or you just an ignorant asshole who doesn't know what pop-punk actually is and are hating a forum you've never visited? Chad got ahold of 307, Bartender, Damrod, and Strum yesterday, but he was too dumb to do any real damage and since he can't access the ModCP, he can't ban.

sketchyjoe 12-07-2005 10:28 AM

How does he get their cookies?

Brain Toad 12-07-2005 10:30 AM
How does he get their c00kies?
It used to be that if you clicked a link, he got ahold of your cookies, then had control of your account. But with the mods, for at least 307 he put a code into the Homepage part of someone's profile and used a hacked account to post the profile in a report problem users thread. For Bartender and the rest, it was some code embedded into the Severe Problem Reporting thread.

sketchyjoe 12-07-2005 10:42 AM

The cookies filter is weird. Cookies.

Brain Toad 12-07-2005 10:43 AM
The cookies filter is weird. c00kies.
It's a way to stop Chad. I just pointed out an exploit to him, so hopefully he can fix that too.

TakeWarning 12-07-2005 10:50 AM

That Chad is a burden these here forums. Although he knows his shit when it comes to computers, he must have hi-jacked at least 50 accounts by now.

Well, there are many good punk-pop bands. I just would not complain overly if he happened to delete threads about bands like Sum41, Blink182 and other sh'it conformi-punk bands. But Boomtown Rats rock. And the Vapours. And Velvet Underground. I like them. And Adam Ant, the old stuff anyway.

So you dislike bands because they are "conformi" and don't even bother to listen to them?

Angry Balled Fists! 12-07-2005 11:11 AM

lmao, he got bartender !

Pop-Punk forum ? j00 mate

Hey, lay off man. All I said was that pop-punk standards nowadays are awful. Punk is about being yourself and having your own image/sound/opinions. I've heard a lot of stuff from the bands I mentioned (blink182, sum41, green day etc.) but if you were to play me a song from each (one I didn't know of course) then I would not be able to place it. They are all exactly the same, they are all just the mass production of music to try and stagnate punk. I did not say all pop-punk is crap.

I agree with you to some degree, in that old pop-punk is way better than new pop-punk, but you shouldn't hate those bands just because they conform.

Also, why does the swearing censor alter the word "cookies"?

Edit: Nevermind.

superskankinactionhero 12-07-2005 01:05 PM

because it is a vulgar word that is not for the eyes of children

What going on with Mx then, how come i keep getting logged out, and i've just read we're not supposed to be clicking links?

Skidmark Steve 12-07-2005 03:50 PM

It's going really really slow for me

Shtein 12-07-2005 03:59 PM

Mx won't let me log off anymore.

AIRIC 12-07-2005 04:04 PM

Everyone go post in my thread you fags.

EDIT: Read the article too, and don't spam. I'll recommend a ban if you do, i'm a harda'ss.

Jom 12-07-2005 04:16 PM

Hello, everyone. Hope I'm not interfering with anything, but Nick said to post in here to tell you about this. He says you guys would be cool with it, so thank you.

In R&M, a covers competition is going on - but after some short deliberation with others, I decided to extend the invitation to the other forums as well.

If you're interested in recording a cover of a song from any genre (doesn't have to be rock or metal, it can be punk or other genre), then please stop by (it's stickied at the top of the page) and submit your entry.

The rules and everything are in the first post, but it's basically common sense.

If you're interested, please participate! I would like to see a lot of entries, not just from R&M people.

The deadline for the entry is January 29th. One entry per user, blah blah blah, read the rules in the first post for further info, if you're interested.

Thanks, and have a good one.

AIRIC 12-07-2005 04:19 PM

This definintely sounds like a lot of fun. Will it be a voting type thing?

Jom 12-07-2005 04:37 PM

Yes, sir. After the submission thread gets all closed up, there is a voting thread.

I have a Soundclick where I store all the submissions. I link everyone to it in the voting thread, and give the instructions in that thread.

In a nutshell, people write a couple sentences about every song: what was good, what could be improved, final comment, and a score out of ten.

I then calculate the mean and standard deviation, and then rank that way.

This explanation kinda sucks, so let me link you to the most recent competition we had: hopefully this will clarify for you.

This is the announcement of the genre.

In this thread, people ask questions, submit snippets of their songs, and other things. It's basically the introduction to the theme.

This is the voting thread.

Here, people vote as I described. This is just the thread in action, so you get an idea.

This is the results thread.

For some reason, the coding screwed up in the results, so that's why it looks so awful in terms of aesthetics. But yeah, that's where I find the mean and standard deviation.

I hope this was helpful. Nick said that there are a few people here who are into covers, so hopefully they join up.

coheneran 12-07-2005 04:44 PM

I want to record a cover of Dancing Cheek To Cheek, but I have no experience with recording, home or otherwise, and would not know where to start.

TAND 12-07-2005 04:47 PM

Nor do I. But I don't got anyone to record with either.

Jom 12-07-2005 04:55 PM

Well, for drums, I'm going to be uploading Drum Kit From Hell and Fruity Loops for people, so that could be a start.

As for recording itself, I can't do much save for link you to Audacity. I don't have recording capabilities while at university, but I do take care of anything and everything else.

You could ask people in the Jam Session (Berner or moaner, for example), and I'm sure they could help you out.

coheneran 12-07-2005 04:58 PM

I have Audacity, and I could find the other programs, but I can't be bothered. And as it would be a punk cover, all the beats and the instruments would need to be changed, as I would, ideally, have it with a bouncy skapunk version of the song. But thanks anyway.

Brain Toad 12-07-2005 05:51 PM

omg dunt clik jom's linkz hez ben haxd

coheneran 12-07-2005 05:53 PM

coheneran 12-07-2005 06:43 PM

Doesn't pwn mean beat someone at an argument?

_JR 12-07-2005 06:56 PM

it means "own"

coheneran 12-07-2005 06:58 PM
it means "own"
Which, in turn, means?

Liebensaft 12-07-2005 06:58 PM

But translated to nerd.

coheneran 12-07-2005 07:01 PM

On another subject, 'teh' is the most tortuous misspelling there is. Everytime I see it, it's like rusted metal fingernails scratching the inside of my chest.

_JR 12-07-2005 07:03 PM
Which, in turn, means?
you dont know what own means. such as "im going to own your *** at this game of ping-pong.

Liebensaft 12-07-2005 07:04 PM

Hahaha. I played ping pong in gym class not long ago. I love that game/sport.
