Drum Phil 09-11-2006 06:24 AM

Morning kids.

TheBigMachine 09-11-2006 06:31 AM

Morning. This is possibly the most intellectual community thread on the forums. Except for like, the politics one, do they have a com thread?

Drum Phil 09-11-2006 06:40 AM

Well its time for me to lower the tone.

I have to wear hand support. So that means no drumming, no..... other things :(

However a hot girl offered a hand :naughty:

Sunshine 09-11-2006 08:10 AM

Haha.

Oh. Crap. Its September 11th. A lot of people I know have their birthdays today, and I bet nobody's going to shut up about 9/11 ALL DAY TODAY.

Yes it was sad, no we don't have to keep freaking out about it =/

Sorry, I'm just pissed at my parents and college. So excuse me if I'm not feeling particularly patriotic.

Drum Phil 09-11-2006 08:13 AM

I nearly got banned last year for posting an excellent animation involving tetris and the towers.

Drum Phil 09-11-2006 09:32 AM

New fav band.

PandaDrummer 09-11-2006 12:08 PM

I hate the way that guy screams, but the singing is good, it reminds me a bit of Saosin

Berk 09-11-2006 12:13 PM

Yeah, Then screaming reminded me of Drop Dead, Gorgeous's screamer. Witch is ok for me.

Drum Phil 09-11-2006 01:08 PM

Ladies and gents, we have a winner.

Congrats raz0r.

maniac0796 09-11-2006 01:09 PM

so kiddies and adults, i have to hand in 5 sheets of A3 Rm coursework for thursday, yet i still don't know what i'm doing. My school sucks.

Drum Phil 09-11-2006 01:11 PM

Pwned. I have to hand in nothing and im off to newcastle tomorrow and then london on wednesday.

trysthedrummer 09-11-2006 01:15 PM

I got an A for RM overall. whoopie

maniac0796 09-11-2006 01:15 PM

GCSE coursework sucks.

Actually, it's my school that sucks. They have this stupid mini deadlines that arn't set by the exam board, but if you don't meet them there are some harsh punishments.

Miss 4 deadlines and you get removed from the course, you get an afterschool detention each week, and you get put in solitary confinement (pretty much...), for each lesson you're meant to be in.

**** that. I'd rather spend time doing my work and making it look good and stuff than have to rush it and hand in a piece of crap. If my teacher asks me why i didn't hand it in, i'll say that i think. I'l probably get f'd in the A for saying it because my school is run by a bunch of communist bastids, but meh.

The problem is that i can do all the practical work really easily. I find making stuff so easy. I just can't do the written work because
A. I don't know what i'm doing
B. I cannot concentrate at all, wherever i am, whatever i'm doing

If the exam was mainly marked on what i made/designed, i could easily get a B or above, but it's 60% coursework, of which 40% if written work, and 40% exam. So only 20% of my mark will be determined on what i make. 80% is split between what i write when i was making my work, and what i answer in an exam.

Gah, AQA is such a sh/tty exam board. Edexcel is so much better.

I can't understand why metalcore is so popular.

trysthedrummer 09-11-2006 01:20 PM

You gotta be joking maniac thats ****!

maniac0796 09-11-2006 01:23 PM

Yup. I might argue my case if i ever get to the point of that. My school says i have to of submitted my final ideas by 17:00 on the 12/10/06, yet the exam board says i have to hand it in anytime on the 15th of february 2007.

I don't start manufacture until october 30th. so thats like, 17 days in which i could do that coursework nicely instead of being rushed off my face.

Which exam board did you do trys?

trysthedrummer 09-11-2006 01:36 PM

MM edexcel for quite a few of them, and AQA.

It might have been AQA for resitant materials, edexcel for music and stuff. There was one called OCR. Not sure which one for what subjects.

Josiah 09-11-2006 01:43 PM

You guys got some crazy school stuff over there...

trysthedrummer 09-11-2006 01:46 PM

Oh yeah it's crazy, well you get used to it. Glad I don't go there anymore.

maniac0796 09-11-2006 02:02 PM

Tis insane. Ruth kelley or whatever her name is needs to be shot and replaced with me.

Man, i'm voting conservative when i'm older for the sole reason that boris johnson is the education minister for the conservative party, and he is a ledgend

Janeway 09-11-2006 02:22 PM

This sucks.

My hip is absolutely killing me.I can't figure out any other reason why than because I sleep in a terrible position. But I can't sleep in any other position than on my stomach with my torso twisted on the side, and one arm flat and under my pillow. =/

 Generic pop-metalcore (whatever genre you wanna classify it as) band #854,682, you have a new fan.

How can you listen to this stuff day after day?

Ohh, on the 14th I get to vote for the first time. Some people moved to our town and complained that there was no christian school (though all the schools have programs for christianity if the parents want their child in it), and now the town is under enough pressure that they're having a vote on whether or not to build one.

It's going to put a bunch of local teachers out of work if it does go up. It's not looking good for stopping it, though, since I read that only 25% of the christian population needs to show up and vote in favor for them to have a majority.

maniac0796 09-11-2006 02:29 PM

Religion sucks. Will it be one of those creationist schools?

Janeway 09-11-2006 02:32 PM

Why would local teachers lose jobs?

Catholic schools are not public schools.

Win A Rabbit 09-11-2006 02:35 PM

Decreased number of students in public schools = decreased budget for school = decreased number of teachers.

Teachers not being christian = not being able to work at christian school.
