Feel your pain dude that **** happened to me years back lost like all my music and a lot of compositions and whatever from when I was little.
Yeah... it would be less bad if I hadn't had this happen to me earlier this year, as well. Twice in one year... I had some finished in Reason that I didn't get a chance to export, so I'm a big buggered about that. Regular music is no big deal because I can get most of it off of a buddy, and rip the rest myself from CDs that I own, and photos I archive on flickr. It's just time and effort to rebuild.

On the plus side, I feel a lot more accomplished since I cracked open my laptop and changed and formatted the HD, something I've never done before. Now that I've done it, I'll never understand why anyone would pay for someone to do it for them.

@Joe: Thanks, man. I really appreciate that.

gaslight 09-15-2009 10:07 AM

Oh there'll always be people who'd rather pay someone else to do something for them, even if they could easily do it themselves.
Oh there'll always be people who'd rather pay someone else to do something for them, even if they could easily do it themselves.
Especially when it's something SO INCREDIBLY EASY to do because everything fits in perfectly.

But, some are mechanically inclined, some would rather not attempt something trivial like that.

@Ben. You're very welcome.

Feel free to send me lots of music stuff. I'll gladly store it for you as backup.

HDD connection type? I might have some hardware I could use when I see you to get some stuff out....

If it's a newer laptop, it's probably SATA.

That reminds me, I need to get some SATA/IDE adapters for my old hard drives so I can just dual boot on my current computer and pull that sh*t off.

BenJammin 09-15-2009 01:38 PM

Yeah, it's SATA.

Epidemechanical 09-15-2009 07:14 PM

so ive been practicing my falsetto singing

and using it in tactus a songs
so ive been practicing my falsetto singing

It's a skill that too many of us forget is quite useful for accurately hitting higher pitches and very breathy tones.

I've just about gotten the switch from my singing voice to my falsetto voice to be seamless. Descending, you can tell when I switch - it's not nearly as smooth of a transition.

Epidemechanical 09-15-2009 08:19 PM

ive been practicing head to falsetto voice transitioning for the past few months

its to the point where there is no transition

its all seamless

the secret is volume and breath. pushing air out to mask the ascension coupled with a VERY delicate control over volume

Efrim 09-15-2009 08:20 PM
Yeah, it's SATA.
I have a case that we could rig up around it, which means we might be able to pull something out of it.
How dead are we talking here? Failing, or simply did not start?

funkyhoney 09-15-2009 08:22 PM

Oh wow I have a headache.

Epidemechanical 09-15-2009 08:23 PM

i had a headache all day but this got me through it:

funkyhoney 09-15-2009 08:27 PM

Oh wow, what is that? I have a DSi I have no games for.

Epidemechanical 09-15-2009 08:30 PM

umm dude

look it up

probably one of the most LEGENDARY games of all time

BenJammin 09-15-2009 08:35 PM

You cocksucker. I want that game.

Hmm. That could be useful. It 'works' in the sense that I can hear it run, but it doesn't get past the start-up white screen, so I can't really do anything with it. If I had something to read it as a secondary drive, that might help, but I do not.
I will post pictures later, as I am not home at the moment.

Efrim, this is my bike:

It looks a bit more beat up, as well as the handlebar tape is ****ed, and more seat post is showing.

I wrecked again last night.

Goddamn, I am 2 for 3 in wrecking within a week.

funkyhoney 09-15-2009 09:19 PM

Cute. I like dem colours. I'm probably going to get this frame for my bike this week:
http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAdLargeImage?AdId=155252262&back=-4&ImageIndex=0

and then sand off the pink.

Also, kudos on having a brake.

Ok, then we can probably get something, if its turning.

You should leave the pink on. :)

I was thinking of putting Jasco on my bike, stripping it, then leaving it raw, but putting a coating over it to prevent rusting and whatnot.

Once I sell some ****, I am going clipless. I was thinking about purchasing Toshi doubles, but I would prefer clipless in the end.

Also, I will not take my chances without a brake. Bombing down hills + flying through red lights + skidding like a madman = not fun at all. The police also tag people for riding brakeless, and I do not want a ticket.

itt: out of shape fat kids make fun of instruments of physical fitness

Pluperfect_Arson 09-15-2009 10:32 PM

It is cool, man. Gay men used to hit on me all the time, so I quit leaving my house. :(

Edit: Efrim, about how many miles do you log a week?

funkyhoney 09-15-2009 10:38 PM
itt: out of shape fat kids make fun of instruments of physical fitness
I'm not fat, nor out of shape. I just prefer running and mountain biking to those weird road ones where your arse is sitcking up in the air in a gay fashion.

gaslight 09-15-2009 10:39 PM

I have a mountain bike somewhere.

As you can see, I am not fat.

You must see some people with steep saddle-to-bar drop ratios.

Mr. Pickle 09-16-2009 03:02 AM

I'm fat. I ride mountain bikes quite a bit. SUP?!

Good, I see a lot of jerks riding fixed who think they're cool because they don't have a brake. I also see them run into buses.
I was considering clipless, but I don't want to wear shoes for it.

I don't know, I like my dull theme on my bike right now, where there are basically no colours at all.

Also, I do about 100-150 km per week, depending on what happens on the weekend. When I finally get my apartment sorted out I'll be able to get out of the city for longer rides though.

TimJim 09-16-2009 06:30 AM

Do you bike through the city streets?

If so... you bastard. Crazy bikers were one of the most traumatic things about driving in Montreal.
