I just wish 5 awesome kids would get together and create a Hot Cross rip off. Can no other emo band attempt technical riffing? I thought Suis La Lune could maybe take up the mantle but I'm not too sure anymore.
A lot of bands sound similar and are still enjoyable.

But the lack of Hot Cross worship out there does make me sad.

Fall Of Troy is seriously the closest thing I've ever heard, and that comparison is just silly.
I lose sleep over the lack of Hot Cross worship. The comparison is silly but yet somewhat accurate.

SeaAnemone 11-29-2010 11:43 AM

let's do it

christsimpson 11-29-2010 12:17 PM

if you review your last fifty posts (or probably all of your posts period), you'll come to the sad conclusion that you don't ever say anything, and that you have no opinions at all. good job.

I also am not sure I know the difference between you and the other poster whose nickname starts with an 'a'.

I loved TFOT until they put out Manipulator.

witchxrapist 11-29-2010 12:27 PM

Manipulator rules though.

HighandDriving 11-29-2010 12:29 PM

Manipulator is alright but it has too many shitty songs where Erak tries to coherently sing - and fails hard.

TFOT's last album was just fucking terrible.

Eighty8Percent 11-29-2010 12:30 PM

Everyone says that, but I just can't get into it. It just didn't have the raw emotion the first two LPs had.

Eighty8Percent 11-29-2010 12:31 PM

Im caught uhhhooooup

HighandDriving 11-29-2010 12:44 PM

Idk what they were thinking including that on the album.

whiteminority 11-29-2010 12:54 PM

Someone just tell Josh Jakubowski to get off his ass and start another band. Man is too good of a guitarist to not bring me screamo on a daily basis.

Eighty8Percent 11-29-2010 12:57 PM

Speaking of which, wtf does Billy Werner do nowadays?

christsimpson 11-29-2010 12:58 PM

@ben I would but I don't think he uses MySpace any more. he's probably on Facebook though, so hunt him down there if you have Facebook.

@jt isn't he still a deejay?

edit:
here's one of his band's tracks from some years back: http://www.divshare.com/download/4051493-c33. shit is bumping.

Juddybear 11-29-2010 01:00 PM

such a hipster job

HighandDriving 11-29-2010 01:03 PM

Billy DJs.

Yes, or at least start producing. Same with Casey Boland (You and I), he needs to get back to it.

http://thatspunk.net/blog/2009/02/rest-of-my-life-all-pretty-people-live-in-airports/

might be of interest to you. they are obviously not exactly like ABC, but somewhat in the same vein at least. cheers.
but thanks man. YPOFH are awesome, but I need to check out the others

christsimpson 11-29-2010 01:16 PM

It's Just Vanity just put out a new ep btw. everyone check it out at http://itsjustvanity.bandcamp.com/album/the-same-height, where you can stream it. this band are soso good.

This.

Eighty8Percent 11-29-2010 03:45 PM

So I know a lot of people hate the new wave of midwest emo (street smart cyclist, Algernon, Grown Ups, Snowing, Tigers Jaw [I fucking love Tigers Jaw tho] etc.) but has anyone checked out Everyone Everywhere? If not I highly recommend getting their s/t. It's simply amazing

SlightlyEpic 11-29-2010 03:47 PM

it's alright, same old indie/emo stuff

witchxrapist 11-29-2010 04:05 PM

I love all of the stuff you listed, haven't heard Everyone Everywhere?

SSC and Snowing are local. SSC reunion show at the end of the month.

And Snowing and Algernon are playing with fucking Empire! Empire! this month too.

Eighty8Percent 11-29-2010 04:13 PM

Go download their s/t. You won't be disappointed I promise. Man, I don't know what it is but I cannot get into Snowing or E!E!. SSC is cool tho and I'm jealous you get to see their reunion show.

I got to see cap'n jazz recently tho ;)

witchxrapist 11-29-2010 04:16 PM

Snowing live = fuck yes.

Most of my friends hate emo, and they go with me to most of the Snowing/Algernon shows in my area because those bands rule that hard.

Eighty8Percent 11-29-2010 04:18 PM

I'd go to an emo show with you, bro

witchxrapist 11-29-2010 04:18 PM

lmao @ that emote

Eighty8Percent 11-29-2010 04:22 PM

Yea, it's from another forum. It's :gayman: haha

christsimpson 11-29-2010 04:23 PM

listen to http://itsjustvanity.bandcamp.com/album/the-same-height ffs. shit rules. can't recommend it enough.

SeaAnemone 11-29-2010 04:23 PM

Everyone Everywhere are significantly more mediocre than those other bands you listed, I think

christsimpson 11-29-2010 04:25 PM

Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate)
Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson
It's Just Vanity

that's all you need. neither sound like blatant worship bands due to their mixed pool of influences, and all of them make the most amazing tunes.
