I didn't know where else to put this, and i didn't want to create a separate thread for it, so oh well. But I just wanted to say that most of the people here(r&m) have been very helpful and suggestive, and I appreciate that. But I have grown fairly tired of stupid people, ignorant people, and hostility by some that is unwarranted. so I think im gonna go ahead and leave for a while, maybe come back in a few weeks or months. If anybody in here still wants to talk to me, email me at atreyu_breakingbenjamin@yahoo.com. See you all in a while. :thumb:

Don't forget the Aussie thrashers like mansucriptreplica, vio-lence, metdrummer, and JMetallica (that's all who I can think of off the top of my head).
Chinese food and trying to help a friend with Chemistry homework in which she she has trouble with is fun XD I guess on one of the answers and I was actually right...how strange...because I suck at sciencey stuff  |
Why did no one jump on this statement, and tear it apart?
Becasue it makes no sense. |
Well, exactly. Going around with the belief that rap and hip-hop are two different things (in the sense that he does) is a bad thing.

People like him are so dense that you ended up pissing your self off by trying to argue with them. |
Rap is a form of music.
Hip-Hop is a form of idiocy. |
Rap is a form of music.
Hip-Hop is a form of idiocy.
Quoted for truth. There was a huge hip-hop-oriented show at my college a few weeks ago, and they had this amazing spoken-word poet whose mantra was "**** hip-hop" because of the culture's tendency to get more young black children focused on diamond jewelry and rims than an education. Actually, did anybody see this Chris Rock special they've been showing on HBO recently? He talks about a lot of this stuff in a great way, and I'm pretty happy that he's saying stuff like it. Maybe that will wake a few people up. |
Rap is a form of music.
Hip-Hop is a form of idiocy.
Rap is part of hip hop culture. It's one of the five (I think) keystones to it. Just because the most prevalent form of hip hop culture at the moment is badly diseased doesn't mean the whole thing can be written off. |

Just curious, as we're talking a lot about how American city issues and stuff influences hip-hop and vice versa. What do you guys learn about all this sort of stuff in the UK? Not acting like you don't get accurate stuff there, but I'm curious. What sort of idea do you have about the American inner-city problems, generally? EDIT: Intended mostly for Bartender, but all you Aussies and other UK-ites(word? it is now) can feel free to answer. I'm really wondering. |
I couldn't say, to be honest. I could only tell you (a posteriori) of my point of view, and, stuck-up though I will sound in saying it, I've just never really been around un/badly educated people (more than in passing); just people who have always been reasonably well-versed in lots of areas. My point of view is even more distorted because I've spent a not inconsiderable amount of time in America anyway.
That said, the impression that I get is that people in Britain (barring those without a chance) tend to have a decent amount of knowledge of countries outside of England, the US in particular. |

I can only imagine what sort of impression you must get from some of the Americans on this site...personally, I like that there are multiple nationalities on here. We can actually discuss this sort of stuff, and destroy propagandist impressions. I wish more of the regs here posted in the Pit's political forum, as it's always healthy and interesting to know what Europeans are thinking at any given point and time about America. I'm none too happy with the American populace in general and of course am furious with the Bush Administration, and I'm concerned that some Europeans might get the wrong impression, that all of America voted for the imbecile, as opposed to the 52% it actually was. I hate what we are in the eyes of all of you folks in Europe. I try not to be what we are in that respect. Actually my friends and I were talking about it today, and we thought that we should write letters to all European Union nations aligned against the U.S.-Iraq war and ask them to invade us to get us to cut it out. How come the intelligence agencies of other countries can't depose our regime if they don't like it? I wouldn't mind. It would serve us right too, for the similar stuff our wonderful CIA has done. That idiot. I can't believe he actually managed to convince some Americans that Europeans "wouldn't follow Kerry," and then claimed to know "how they think." What rubbish. It's clear to me that even the populaces of those nations involved in our coalition were pushing for Kerry. What a mess we've landed ourselves in by voting for Bush again. But anyway, sorry, this should go in Politics. Just some two cents, Bartender. |

And I have seen that place, it is full of democrates and not enough republicans. And any one that supports Bush in there gets jumped upon by 9743327 democrates and chant you are wrong and they are right in every way possible. So ya, not my kind of place, its a congregation for one political party, not all of them. |
Don't get me wrong, I love metal, but you can't talk about rappers not being taken seriously because of their names when you have bands like Anal Blast, Cannibal Corpse, Mortician, etc. And for misspellings, Kreator, Berzerker, etc. The point is, the name does not make an artist, the music does.
Ah, I was wondering if someone would pick up on Kreator or Kataklysm. Or Berzerker. But the vast majority still spell their names correctly. And I don't see whats wrong with the name Mortician, even though they are a terrible band... Also, Anal Cunt are 1. A Joke Band 2. Not Even Metal |
mmm there is alot of tension in this place since yesterday
peace and everything? |

1. A Joke Band 2. Not Even Metal
The point of my post was to state that misspelling don't determine a band's quality. Obviously, Kreator are an amazing thrash band, and The Berzerker are amazing death/grind. The name shouldn't matter at all...let the music speak for itself. |
