Cool. Did you see Thin Lizzy??
??

BludgeonySteve 09-15-2004 04:45 PM

Yes, I resisted the urge to go buy a hotdog during their set. It was actually quite good.

Paranoidd 09-15-2004 04:45 PM
Yeah Ive noticed that to.^

Yeah Signs is the only song I've heard from them.To RockandRoll
Considering Reed has a ton of material in his 40 year career, I find peoples ignorance on him to be inexcusable.

Broken Arrow 09-15-2004 04:46 PM

I know.^ Kind of like Zeppelin except only 1 song.

themightyquinn23 09-15-2004 05:25 PM

Not even. I bet if you walked up to someone on the street and asked them who Lou Reed was, they would have no clue.

Woodstock 09-15-2004 05:32 PM

Hello everyone, 8 pages of reading.

I am somewhat more happy because our classic rock radio station just expanded their library. I heard Deja Vu a few days ago on it, and I was ecstatic.

If you are refering to the newest John Foggerty song, then I've heard it on my radio station as well. It's not even a classic rock station, which is a good sign. The fact that we still have a well-known guy playing Classic Rock and getting radio play is a great thing.

If you are refering to CSNY's Deja Vu, well, that's cool too.

Woodstock 09-15-2004 05:54 PM

Csn&y

Spectrum 09-15-2004 05:56 PM

Well, I'm still excited about the former CCR frontman's new album and its radio play. Real music is still alive.

Woodstock 09-15-2004 05:56 PM

Are we still doing that list thing?

Broken Arrow 09-15-2004 06:04 PM

no^
Everyone has the Zeppelin shirt that I do. It annoys me because none of them know of my than 5 of their songs.
which shirt do you have?

Paranoidd 09-15-2004 06:09 PM
Not even. I bet if you walked up to someone on the street and asked them who Lou Reed was, they would have no clue.
But if you hummed the bassline from Take A Walk on the Wild Side, they'd know. People think he is a one hit wonder, which couldn't be further from the truth, especially if you consider he was in The Velvet Underground (which most people BETTER know). When I was in Italy last month, I saw a euro-dance remix of "Satelite of Love" that made me nautious.

Anyone older than 30 should know who he is too. He's a rock n roll animal.

His new CD, "animal serenade", totally rocks. It's very chill.

Broken Arrow 09-15-2004 06:12 PM

I hate how In the Greatest Rock song ever thread eveyone says stairway is the best Song ever.

Paranoidd 09-15-2004 06:12 PM

I know...I had to 0wn those kids.

You know something, I was concerned about that for a while too. I'm actually wearing it right now, and they sell it in a bunch of stores in my area.

However, it was cheap, it was simple (which I like), and easily accessable. I really don't care if anybody perceives me as a poser, because if they step to me on Zeppelin, chances are they'll get 0wned. I'll shove stairway to heaven up their @ss. I really don't feel like spending more money and time just to get a shirt I haven't seen anybody wearing.

I wouldn't worry about it. You're not a poser.
no^
Yes. We're waiting for the metal band thing to end.

Not sure. Even if they don't,

GREAT PRICE + GREAT LINE-UP = CAN'T LOSE

Broken Arrow 09-15-2004 06:33 PM

are you going for sure????

Against Miik! 09-15-2004 06:34 PM

If they all played full sets all day, I would sell my left nut to science to pay for a plane ticket to get there.

Broken Arrow 09-15-2004 07:20 PM

Yeah Paul is great I would love to see him live but NEIL YOUNG will be there. Dam.n I wish I were There

RockAndRoll 09-15-2004 07:49 PM

Although I agree about these pretenders (better word than posers) I think sometimes people just go too far with it. For example When I was at a festival concert some old man kept blabbering on about how he deserved to be up at the front and most people probably couldn't name 3 foghat songs. Now, this was a festival concert, Foghat were not the headliners, sure most people in the crowd could probably only name slowride, but then again that's probably ont what most of them were there for, nor did i hear anyone (but him) profess to being there because they were a super huge expert and connaiseur of the music being played. You can't always expect everybody to know everything.

But it is annoying to have someone ask to borrow your discman so that they can listen to stairway only to give it back in 3 and a half minutes. (This has actually happened to me)

Woodstock 09-15-2004 08:24 PM

I asked my friend to listen to Voodoo Child(Slight Return) and he only heard the opening riff and gave it right back to me.
