clown_phobia 06-27-2004 02:37 AM

should i get load as a second album after self titled?

Eskimo 06-27-2004 03:22 AM

you actually can't go wrong with any of the burton-years albums. but load and reload are good, they have some pretty cool songs with really interesting guitar riffs. if you like good drumming get ..and justice for all coz it has some heavy drumming in it and a sh*t lot of bass drum =)
any of them are are good and self titled is a good start but you'll love 'em all (i hope)

no get kill em all

Kickflip_Burrito 06-27-2004 07:47 AM

I just thought, who do you think would be replacements for each member should one of them quit ? For example, if Hammett had to leave Tallica, who wud be his replacement and so on for the others. I know most of you would say something like 'if one of them quit, metallica would cease making music' but i'm saying IF they carried on.

CrazyBass69167 06-27-2004 07:57 AM

It would be hard to fill any of their shoes, i mean, c'mon, they're metallica

Squirrel 06-27-2004 07:57 AM

God knows really - when Cliff died they chose Jason who, lets face it wasnt amazingly well known and recognised etc, so it could be anyone.

It probably would be one of their lifelong friends whos worked with them for years.

Toozey 06-27-2004 08:25 AM

Jason was well known in thrash circles for his time with Flotsam and Jetsam and its well documented when Metallica searched for a new bassist after Cliff, Jason was the person whose name kept cropping up.

Squirrel 06-27-2004 08:34 AM

Ah ok, i stand corrected.

Toozey 06-27-2004 08:38 AM

But lets face it, they majority of people didn't know of him.

Squirrel 06-27-2004 08:39 AM

Yeah thats true, to be honest i only knew him of Metallica, i'd never heard any of his other work.

Firecracker 06-27-2004 08:54 AM

i like rob trujillo. :)

Squirrel 06-27-2004 09:01 AM

^ and ?

Armor O'Malley 06-27-2004 09:36 AM

Gene Hoglan to replace Lars :thumb:

_GanondorF_ 06-27-2004 11:23 AM

Paul Bostaph to replace lars
Zakk wylde to replace kirk
hmm cant think of any really solid rythm players/singers that would be suitable
It would be hard to fill any of their shoes, i mean, c'mon, they're metallica
well i mean i like their music but its not like any of them are all that good musicians, i mean their pros and all but i think i could play bass for them and make it better

Kreator 06-27-2004 12:10 PM

can you imagine a metallica song with miillions of pinch harmonics?

Squirrel 06-27-2004 12:18 PM

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Kreator 06-27-2004 12:45 PM

a new bassplayer doesn't make metallica better

Toozey 06-27-2004 12:51 PM

Yet.

Kreator 06-27-2004 12:58 PM

never :p

TallicaChic 06-28-2004 12:23 AM

i think they could have done way better than robert...I mean he's cool and all..but just doesn't really fit in MetallicA as I see him..

ForWhomTheBellTolls... 06-28-2004 12:30 AM

Not alot of people no it but Les Claypool was auditioned when Cliff died. R.I.P. Cliff... you were a legend and are missed.

TallicaChic 06-28-2004 12:35 AM

he will never be forgotten....*shudders* not les claypool...that wouldn't work..lol

ForWhomTheBellTolls... 06-28-2004 01:49 AM

yeah im not a big fan of primus. les claypool isnt cut for metal in my opinion either. cliff burton kicked his *** in every which way.

TallicaChic 06-28-2004 01:55 AM

i totally agree...i don't really like primus at all

clown_phobia 06-28-2004 02:02 AM

what was the name of the metallica lead guitarist that was kicked out and he started megadeth?

ForWhomTheBellTolls... 06-28-2004 02:03 AM

i hate em, really... one of my friends likes em and we were listening to them (i had no choice. his house.) and he said "Man, les claypool is the best bassist ever!" i just stared at him. after a few minutes i was like "your ****ting me, right?"

clown_phobia 06-28-2004 02:04 AM

what band is les claypool in?
