ping ride
gives you a good ping sound, but its really versatile too
good metal ride, but you can play jazz on it too
i have the 20" and its sex

ludvista29 12-26-2006 02:56 PM

not Zildj, but Paiste 21 Dry Heavy.

Aaron 12-26-2006 04:45 PM

24" Paiste Giant Beat Ride

saars 12-27-2006 12:04 AM

lol, you should try all these suggestions out since everyone's giving varied choices.

drummerdave 12-27-2006 07:02 AM

i hate how people say you can play jazz on a ping ride
yes, physically you could
but if you want the right cymbal for jazz, you won't buy a ping ride
and obviously saying you caould play jazz on a ping ride you havent studied or listened that much to jazz
for jazz, light rides, with medium to high wash are prefered, and often these rides are riveted for a kind of sizzle sound
none of the qualities of a ping ride

yeah, I have the 22" ping ride and its not that great for jazz. My old Wuhan was a much better jazz ride. Nowadays when I want to do some swing I'll play on my 18" AA medium crash. A tad washy but its pretty good.

gimp fest 12-27-2006 02:51 PM

hi,
i'm looking for a 16" crash to compliment an 18" AAXplosion crash.
it has to be fairly durable as i play a wide range of stuff including plenty of heavier stuff.
thanks for any help

GooseFilms.net 12-27-2006 06:37 PM

Ha, I just realized that everybody else in the world still uses cymbals in increment of an inch, even though the US is the only country that actually uses customary system.

Awesome.

Little Android Man 12-27-2006 06:40 PM

hmm, i wonder how a 16 1/2" crash would sound like..

GooseFilms.net 12-27-2006 07:40 PM

only crash with a half inch dimension is the 18.5" chad smith sig crash. never heard of anything else that comes in a half inch size

Little Android Man 12-27-2006 07:57 PM

just wondering..

i would probably like it, i like crashes in the 16-17" range, and thats right in the middle.

drummguy731 12-27-2006 08:31 PM

The Zil Bel large comes in 9.5" that's the only other cymbal I've heard of like that.

Hey, I need a new ride, but I'm not sure which one. I want it to be powerful and "clangy", and also with a good ping sound. I play metal. Zildjian would be preferred.
Earth ride

There are 13.25 inch hi-hats floating about somewhere. Zildjian I think.

drummguy731 12-28-2006 11:39 AM

Yeah, my hats, the K Hybrids! :thumb:

DrumIntoTheNight 12-28-2006 01:46 PM

That's the ones, thought it was.

If you look on cymbals they have measurements in CMs.

Snarz 12-29-2006 07:34 AM

Paiste is coming out with a new cymbal.

Its called."Twenty".

FockerTheLopper 12-29-2006 11:41 AM
Yeah, my hats, the K Hybrids! :thumb:
I played them at sam ash, really nice cymbals!

We_Love_Lime 12-29-2006 08:43 PM

K Hybrids get smashed by Dyno Beats. Everyday.
I mean they get done in the butt so hard they start to cry. And whimper, and that's the pathetic little noise you hear when you unfortunatly play your K Custom.

Z Custom ftw.

Little Android Man 12-29-2006 08:46 PM

psh... Paragons own all others in the butt. like, their massive penis's go so far up their butt holes, that it impales them and kills them.

Static 12-29-2006 08:53 PM

So THAT'S what happened today.

We_Love_Lime 12-29-2006 08:54 PM

So your cymbal having a giant penis is a good thing?
I don't think so.

I'd never want my cymbal to have a giant penis.
What if my mom walked into the room?

Static 12-29-2006 08:59 PM

She'd like it.

We_Love_Lime 12-29-2006 09:01 PM

My dad already has a giant penis so

Static 12-29-2006 09:01 PM

You'd know.

Does your throat still hurt?

We_Love_Lime 12-29-2006 09:03 PM

Yeah.
But I took some cough drops.
It's all better now really. Thanks for asking.
