I can't believe I missed Ozzfest :-/

Brew 07-27-2005 08:39 AM

I went to Ozzfest in 2002 at Donington :)
Its not the shipping that bothers me, I just dont want it getting lost in the mail or something. And my avatar is Uriah Heeps first album cover. Its even better seeing it on the record cover.
I always liked their "Abominog" album cover. One of my all time faves, in fact.

I was going to go see them at download this year but due to money problems and other reasons i didnt go.

I think i have a live sabbath video of heaven and hell on my comp somewhere if i can find it i will post it.
I like 'War Pigs' a lot. The more I've listened to Black Sabbath lately, I've noticed that they sound a lot like Led Zeppelin. Has anyone ever noticed that or am I crazy?
The soloish part of electric funeral sounds like Zeppelin

zeppelinman234 07-27-2005 06:18 PM

The Wizard

Can Anyone play The Wizard on harmonica because it seems impossible to me

shadow_stalker 07-27-2005 06:25 PM

you could probably find tabs for it somewhere on the internet.

i really need to look into getting a harmonica

rippa32 07-28-2005 03:02 AM

That would be quite an interesting instrument to learn.

rippa32 07-28-2005 03:28 AM

No offence but is that even a real song?

AA-12 07-28-2005 03:41 AM

No, haha. I was just improvising on the first day I got the harmonica.

rippa32 07-28-2005 03:47 AM

Oh ok well in that case it wasnt that bad. :thumb:

Brew 07-28-2005 08:24 AM

So I just saw that thread about Ozzy pulling Sabbath out of performing at Ozzfest last night due to a cold.

Its a shame Judas Priest weren't with them, I'm sure Halford would've filled in again.

I seriously think that Ozz should consider retiring.

shadow_stalker 07-29-2005 04:21 AM

As much as i love ozzy he is fucking up sabbath, they should go drag martin out of whatever rock he is sitting under.

I journied to carlisle yesturday and returned with the following cds:

Black Sabbath - Sabotage
Thin Lizzy - Greatest hits
Iron Maiden - Fear of the dark
Iron Maiden - Seventh son of a seventh son
Testament - Days of darkness
Iced Earth - Alive in athens

rippa32 07-29-2005 05:24 AM

True about the ozzy thing, bring back Dio I say, if only hed do it. I would loveto see Halford with them.

AA-12 07-29-2005 05:27 AM

Like Richard said, I love Ozzy but he needs to go. Halford would be cool with them but I doubt it will happen.

NP: Megadeth - Tears In A Vial

shadow_stalker 07-29-2005 05:28 AM

I think i must be one of the only people in the world that doesnt like Rob Halford's voice

AA-12 07-29-2005 05:28 AM

I used to not like it but now I love it.

rippa32 07-29-2005 06:08 AM

When I said halford I meant just one of those one-off things he did. It would have been awesome to see two Dehuminizer tour shows, one Dio one Halford.

Brew 07-29-2005 01:28 PM

I'm going to see Dio in October, he's playing all of Holy Diver then a greatest hits set :)

I'm pretty sure he still does a version of Heaven and Hell which should be good.

Dr. Killgreedy 07-29-2005 01:47 PM

my fav black sabbath albums with out ozzy is tyr and cross purposes. i forgot who the singer is on those two but it is probaly some of iommi's best riffs with out ozzy imo.

Brew 07-29-2005 02:00 PM

Tony Martin sung on those albums.

Ahoy. Long time no speak Brumm. Where's this Dio gig? Didn't get to hear about that one.

Brew 07-29-2005 02:42 PM

Cheers for that list - Norwich is less than an hour's drive (actually it's less than 40 miles but the road there is shocking). I will se if any tickets are still available - I would love to see him before his Zimmer days arrive!

Brew 07-29-2005 03:13 PM

Check out his website, on the homepage the picture of the band makes him look really short.

I remember in an interview he did for Classic Rock magazine they did an A-Z of Dio, for Z he mentioned Zimmer Frame.
