If you can come up with a better one, in all seriousness, I'll consider it.

Kronos 04-10-2006 01:56 PM

Hi guys! Yes it's me - sorry about the 4 month absence, but they don't have forums online inside....

...have I come back at just the right time to enjoy a good ol' argument?

I was kind of debating our band name.
Inside as in Prison?

Kronos 04-10-2006 02:03 PM

....inside my grannie's caravan, silly! I do wish you'd let me finish a sentence for once....

Kronos 04-10-2006 02:05 PM

actually I've been really busy in all areas of my pitiful existence, and have had to neglect my MX brethren.

That and I ran out of things to say....

Lord Abortion 04-10-2006 03:42 PM

I <3 Sonata Arctica.

metalmaniac87 04-10-2006 04:04 PM

Dragonforce kinda introduced me to the "power metal" scene and now ive discovered more of the European power metal and i would say this stuff is what ive been looking for in metal for ages! Good vocals, good instrumentals, generally a good vibe...
and Gamma Ray have overtaken Megadeth as my favourite band :) :)

I really didn't like that when they did it live.

Techno sucks...balls.

AA-12 04-10-2006 06:15 PM

I love it. :-|

Still pretty cool talent wise anyway though.

Hopefully Tim can get on here again.

So, are we all good little children who enjoyed Therion?

JausmetalJ 04-12-2006 03:16 AM

Hahaha, yeah. Pretty cool stuff. I like the two off Sirus B alot more than the other album.

Riva 04-12-2006 05:41 AM

Well, the second upload was their death metal era. They had three albums of death metal, three albums of middle ground, then four albums of symphonic power metal.

Lord Abortion 04-12-2006 09:15 AM

I never got any you Australian misser-outer:mad:

Riva 04-12-2006 04:59 PM

Check out the Folk/Viking Metal thread. There are two links there.

Stormrider 04-14-2006 06:28 AM

So I chcked out Firewind yesterday. They're pretty cool. Only listened to one of the 2 songs I got. I think I'll get more some other time.

Anyone here likes them ?

ArcLite 04-14-2006 08:02 AM

Yeah, I just recently picked up Forged In Fire. Pretty good CD. It goes kind of soft on the backside, but I still enjoyed it all.

Shattered_Future 04-14-2006 09:08 AM

Firewind's decent, I guess...haven't listened to much, but anything with Gus in it is bound to be pretty good.

ExitWound 04-14-2006 01:46 PM

Hey there. Haven't been posting in this thread in a while, but I've been reading.

I'm looking for something very specific and I'm hoping you can pinpoint me to what I need. I'm trying to find some more music that sounds very simliar in style, format, and aggression as the Kai-era of Helloween (Jericho, Keeper of the Seven Keys I/II) but not of the post-Kai era. I'm looking for songs simliar to Starlight, Gorgar, Dr Stein, Murderer, A Tale that Wasn't Right, Helloween. I have yet to find anything that's close enough. I'm picky about my power metal. Some just doesn't do it for me, but Helloween when Kai was in it is the most amazing stuff I've ever found.

Any help would be great. I've checked out most of the big name bands listed in this thread and other minor bands as well but nothing is what i'm looking for. If Helloween was so successful, then why aren't there more clones??

Thanks.

Steerpike 04-14-2006 01:59 PM

Give a shot at Wuthering Heights album Far from the Madding Crowd. It's very Helloween-Dio-Maiden-esque with Celtic influences thrown in for good measure.
