I really like Wright's voice, it's very mellow. Did he sing on anything else?

Everyone go check out my write up on Gregg Allman in YDload's thread.
He sang on a few songs on Saucerful of Secrets and Obscured By Clouds. He also did a lot of harmonies with Gilmour on Meddle and DSOTM.

http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/pink_floyd_discography.php

That has the a list of the studio albums and who sang on each.

I thought the write up was great, one of the most informative. Mind telling me your thoughts on my Waters one?

Thanks, I worked on it from about the time I got home from school until whenever it was I posted on it (little over a half hour I guess).

I'll go read yours now.

EDIT: Yours was good, brief and to the point. I was afraid mine was gonna come out too wordy. I also like how you started by calling him an arrogant prick. Both attention grabbing and 100% true.

Broken Arrow 11-10-2005 03:24 PM

I'm doing a Neil Young one now.

/:cool:

/probably won't be that good

EDIT-I still havent started, maybe later tonight
Gilmour would be in my top 20 no question, but Barrett doesn't deserve to be anywhere near a top vocalist list, IMO.
I agree about Barrett but he's not by any means a bad singer as for Gilmour he's a good singer but he isn't great.

Great job on doing Waters, Obi One.
Everyone go check out my write up on Gregg Allman in YDload's thread.
He put alot of the Southern taste into the Allman Brothers. Great singer, great job. :thumb:

I just got finished listining to Eat a Peach which could quite possibly be the greatest album to come out of the 70's.

Over the past month it's reached into my top five favorite albums and it gets better and better with each listin.

Can anyone please hook me up with Live at Fillmore East?

robo2448 11-10-2005 05:22 PM

I did John Fogerty

CCR is such a fun band to listen to.

In other news, Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits is like perfect. I can't find one song from it that isn't awesome.

Broken Arrow 11-10-2005 05:29 PM

I think I like Live at the Fillmore East better than Eat a Peach.

PinkFreud 11-10-2005 05:29 PM

I've been listening to The Times They Are A-Changin' a lot lately. Along with that Bright Eyes album I mentioned a little while ago.

Today we had our Rememberance Day ceremony...a few of my semi-friends played Knockin' On Heaven's Door. It was excellently done, although they covered the Avril Lavigne version (different key than the original)...but my guitarist friend still used the original solo, just changed the key.

Another group of my more metal-happy friends did a great cover of One. One of the guitarists looked exactly like Robert Fripp, I had never noticed he looked like Fripp until I saw him up there with his hair in a pony tail, his glasses, his dress clothes, and his guitar. I laughed. He executed the solo's perfectly too. (He's one of those lame-ass guitarists who practice everything until they can play it perfectly, and they never improvise, move onstage or take their eyes off their guitar because they are too afraid of missing a note)

jpj 11-10-2005 07:22 PM

I absolutely can not stand Bright Eyes.

Many, many months ago the TV listings showed that Wilco would be playing on Austin City Limits followed by Los Lobos. But instead of latin-blues rock, what comes on...FUCKING BRIGHT EYES...he just annoys the hell out of me and I hate his lyrics.

Meh, at least I got to see Wilco.

MBS 11-10-2005 07:22 PM
the Avril Lavigne version
*shudder*

I'm thankful I have never ever heard that.

thickasabrick 11-10-2005 07:48 PM

They should have just made the entire show Bright Eyes. Hahaha.

And the Avril Lavigne version is not exactly horrible. I just don't like her. It's not very different from the original, very basic, mostly just an acoustic guitar and her voice. She doesn't try to pop-punk it up (or whatever she is).

edit - someone neg repped me and said I was the stupidest poster on these forums...or something like that. (from a post a while back, not regarding my Bright Eyes opinion..haha)

JonG 11-10-2005 07:52 PM

Speaking of rep, I got repped last week I think.

I'm up to 212. Yar..

Hey thanks!

Ugh, Bright Eyes are horrible out of three CD's I have of theirs I only ended up liking one song "No Lies, Just Love" his voice is really annoying, and they call Conor Oberst the Bob Dylan of our generation. Please, god, help us. (I got the CD's for 5 bucks, yay for Used CD's)
