No, There sh[U]i[/U]ty beginner cymbals. Sabian B8's or Wuhan S Class's are a MUCH better beginner cymbals.

Im also looking at paiste alphas. Are they better?

It depends what you like. Play on a set of ZXTs, or at least tap them with a stick. They get a lot of stick (LoL) on these forums. I have personally found them average for the price. It really depends what sound you're going for. Get to a shop and tap out on some Sabian Solars, XS20s, Paiste 505s, just as many different cymbals as you can put a stick against within your price range.

I strongly encourage personal testing as almost entirely everything to do with both cymbals and drums is mainly personal preference.

I have solars now, and am looking to upgrade. And there is no drum store near where I live. If I get the chance to I am. Any recimentions for good cheap cymbals. I dont do gigs, but dont fool around eather.
