This is a dry community thread.

These forums are becomming a popularity contest.
I remember a strong dislike for you when you first joined because you jumped on Sam for getting information incorrect on something.

What's their to respect about cheeser? He was a complaining troll who is just a bored little rich boy going to private university and feels the need to anaylze every little thing people say so he can insult their intelligence because of course he is surperior.
Yeah, I did jump on Sam but now we're pals. I've actually met 'em in person.

And well, Cheeser and I liked some of the same bands and he was quite intelligent despite the fact that he did over-analyze a large fraction of posts. I don't care, I still liked 'em.

You must be a n00b, because it's always been one to a point. There is no where there isn't a popularity contest.

If he didn't overanaylze and abuse people, he would've been a lot more respected. I think he came to MX expecting a lot of idiots like most punk forums but didn't take into account that there are some intelligent people and forums are for fun more than anything. Sam made the same mistake when he joined, and it took getting flamed to hell and back to realize this fact. Cheeser never did, he was too hard-headed.

Enough arguing. Group hug guys?

I don't understand why belligerant people who enjoy aruging would ever go to a forum. I saw a picture once that said "Arguing on the internet is like the special olympics; even if you win, you're still retarded."

Ooh, I found it.

I love that picture.

A lot of people who argue on the internet are usually really bored teens or hard-headed people who enjoy making others mad.

People who argue and debate (constructive types) enjoy it because it's a good alternative to the debate team or such for people who don't like speaking out. You can also get lots of evidence while on the internet. I used to debate and argue when I first was getting into the internet and really enjoyed it until I got burnt out and became the apathetic person I am now.

I was just trying to make an excuse for a group hug...:naughty:

Liebensaft 12-02-2005 11:50 PM

I don't mind a good discussion, but arguing through computers is just silly.

Apathy is good. I guess. I don't care. It's ok.

Yeah. Apathy is meh.

But really, constant debating with hard headed christians and hard headed atheists isn't very fun, especially when you start having more liberal ideas after being a hardcore atheist, you can get yourself e-hanged.

Liebensaft 12-02-2005 11:53 PM

Religion is something I try to avoid online. I'm an atheist myself, and I find it hard to mention the fact without people trying to convert me. I believe what I believe, and I don't want to have people telling me I should think otherwise.

Liebensaft 12-02-2005 11:54 PM

Oh, and just so it's out there, I'm an atheistic, semi-anarachist, semi-communist 15 year old from a small town in Pennsylvania.

Skidmark Steve 12-02-2005 11:55 PM

Any good late winter/early spring tours comming up? There was alot of good shows the past month or so and now it's slowly fade'ing off.

Liebensaft 12-02-2005 11:56 PM

Against Me! was yesterday, but I couldn't make it. I'm going to Catch 22/Big D/The Tossers for sure on December 30.

Yea, I was thinking about going to that. I'm still debating...at the Troc right?

Liebensaft 12-02-2005 11:58 PM

Yeah, the Troc. I'm looking forward to it. I really like Catch 22 and Big D.

When I was 15 I was your everyday god hating atheistic, government hating rebel who thought drawing pentagrams was cool.

Now I'm an apathetic agnostic who loves joke religions (Discordianism and FSM), semi-socialist 18 year old who really enjoys drawing the DK logo in notebooks when bored.

Ha. Minus the pentagrams, that sounds like me. Except I don't look like it. I've been wanting to start making an effort to try and absorb myself further in the punk culture lately (i.e. clothes, whatever) but haven't gotten around to it. I still sport a t-shirt, and jeans. No kickass jacket with patches, but a Columbia ski coat. (I do ski by the way (ski-blade that is, short skis) in my free time.) I wanted a green mohawk just a few weeks ago, but after being caught sneaking out of the house multiple times in a row, that idea was shot down.

Some Jehovah's Witnesses came to my house today. Gave me a brochure about the end of the world or some shit.

I'm just your typical agnostic liberal (apathetic liberal I might add)

Being a Jehova's witness must suck. They don't celebrate christmas, or birthdays, or anything. S'hitty.

That sounds like me except I couldn't give a shit about joke religions.

Anarcho Poser 12-03-2005 09:39 AM

I don't care about joke religions, but I'm actually really interested in religions as philiosophies. I don't really subscribe to any, but I find them very interesting, particularly the ones without books. I consider myself an agnostic atheist, but my favorite theist religion is Deism. My least favorite is Christianity.

TakeWarning 12-03-2005 09:45 AM

I dislike Religion in general to be honest.

Some Jehovah's Witnesses live on my street. Every Sunday they leave there house dressed in suits.

DaveToopes 12-03-2005 10:01 AM

I have never had a Jehovah's Witness come to my house, that that I know of at least.

*gasp* I like group hugs!

Gnarmageddon 12-03-2005 10:18 AM

I slammed the door in some Jehovah's Witnesses faces one time. And they came to the window and started looking in, and waving around bibles and yelling stuff at me.

True story.

Skidmark Steve 12-03-2005 10:26 AM

My brother answered the door to some Jehovah's Witnesses and they asked for a parent. So my brother said "Dad some guys are here", and my dad said "tell them to get the hell out of here." And they heard him and left.
