2. Were they the ones that sang that one song that goes "I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger?"
no, that was their later incarnation, the faces. i actually dont think rod stewart was with them until they changed their name. it's called "ooh la la." great song. on the rushmore soundtrack i think.

med, stewart was quite good with the jeff beck group and the faces. at least i think so.

illmatic, thats actually how i was when i first picked up the cd. i liked hallelujah but disliked the rest. i let it sit for like a week and picked it back up and now buckley's my favorite artist.

Glitterati 11-08-2005 08:28 PM

Yep. Great film.

PinkFreud 11-08-2005 09:14 PM

why are we so dead?

rare earth is a really cool band. anyone else heard of them? they were either the most soulful rock group or the most rocking soul group. but they were all white and i never would have guessed it. they jam out too. their live cover of "get ready" is over 20 minutes. also, i just wrote up my little piece for iajp's versus thread but i dont know where he is. he matched me up against him, who's doing the smiths which is pretty much a ridiculous match up. its like, over two pages, single spaced. and i did another write up for the vocalist comp for van morrison.

Yeah I saw your write-up. Good job. Van Morrison is awesome. My parents have Moondance and a Greatest Hits. Somehow Astral Weeks has eluded me. I really need to get that. I want to get some of his stuff with Them too and a live cd of his. Actually, he's a guy I'd really like to see live. Is he still touring?

Moondance is a great album. I was listening to it the other day.

PinkFreud 11-08-2005 09:20 PM

he is still touring but i hear his voice is absolutely shot, which is a big shame. he's awesome though. how have you not gotten astral weeks? its his crown jewel. perhaps i'll upload it...

DeusExMachina 11-08-2005 09:22 PM

Morrison's voice is shot? Are you sure? I have What's Wrong With This Picture?, his 2004 release, and his voice is wonderful on it.

Tupelo Honey is an awesome album of his that doesn't get mentioned enough. I should upload it sometime.

Yeah I don't know how I haven't gotten it. It's always on my to-buy list, but I always buy something else instead. I'm definitely going to get it soon, Christmas at the latest.

Tupelo Honey sounds interesting.

He's pretty good, I like Maggie May. He's got a cool voice.

Heeeeeeey you know who else is cool? Simon & Garfunkel

np: Simon & Garfunkel - The Only Living Boy In New York

magicbus 11-08-2005 10:53 PM

I also haven't listened to Grace yet. I, however, do enjoy Rod Stewart's singing.

PinkFreud 11-08-2005 10:54 PM

simon and garfunkel were my first concert. so cool. and then, like a week after the concert, art got caught with pot again.

edit: concert for george is uploaded. sending right now.

thickasabrick 11-08-2005 11:16 PM
I haven't heard Grace yet....:-/

Since (apparently) dealers don't like to sell tiny strips to skinny white stoners we have decided to save for up for an entire sheet of LSD. Since they're 50 strips (I think) on an entire sheet we're probablly going to have to sell them for 5-10$ a strip or.....we could split 50 strips 50/50 and just take acid every (other) week for a few months. We've already got 47$. :D
How much for a sheet?

Any of you ever listen to Bright Eyes? One of my guitar students lent me the album I'm Wide Awake It's Morning, and I think it's freakin awesome.

edit - and the song Moondance is so fun to play on guitar, my singing sorta ruins it though, and I always screw up the lyrics.

Glitterati 11-08-2005 11:22 PM

Moondance is a cool song, I like all the jazz influences you can hear.

I like Van Morrison.

Anyway, I now know how to play The Times They Are A-Changing, which is very fun to play.

Fnnrqwin 11-08-2005 11:42 PM

PinkFreud, please send me Concert For George! I'm in desperate need of it...
derekjapan@gmail.com

In other news, I downloaded the Safety Dance...

PinkFreud 11-08-2005 11:43 PM

i listen to bright eyes once in a while. not a huge fan of his voice, or the fact that people hail him as the next bob dylan. ridiculous.

first day of my life is a pretty song though.

dredg is freaking awesome.

Leper 11-09-2005 12:37 AM

I'm loving Prairie Wind. Neil Young is the balls.

NP: Neil Young- Falling Off the Face of the Earth
sent out....guy with the letters in his name.
 I don't know what to make of his name either.

magicbus 11-09-2005 09:58 AM

The Concert For George is awesome. I've never heard Jeff Lynne sing, but I really like his voice on "I Want To Tell You". The version of "Taxman" that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers do is pretty cool, and I like how the guitarist plays the first solo almost identical to the record, even though the solo was pretty messy in the first place. All the songs with Clapton are sweet, and it'll be cool to see him playing the solos on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" when I get the dvd. I'm not really sure what to make of McCartney's version of "Something", but I haven't listened all the way through yet, so maybe it'll get better.

Thanks again Freud :thumb:
How much for a sheet?
I don't know I'm trying to find out. Should be something like 100-200$ but I'm not 100% on anything. Can you imagine having a strip waiting for you every weekend? The thought of it just blows my mind. :D
