It really does. Making the beats is the easy part. Making a rap long enough to fill up the song while remaining interesting and cohesive is quite a challenge. The delivery is fun. Being white though, no one hears my raps. Only my metal.

Exactly...the vocal (the flow) is the main form of melody, so you have to rap in a way that'll make the listener want to listen. A lot of rock and metal bands can hide sh[size=2]itty vocals and lyrics behind flashly technical talent, but if you don't have good lyrics or a good flow in rap, you're left with nothing.[/size] Rapping requires quite a bit of mental dexterity.
