no concerts soon or anytime in the future for me.

Bukowski 04-19-2007 05:01 PM

has anyone seen Wolf Eyes live? I could see them on Sunday, and I wouldn't be going alone, but I dunno if I can be bothered. Are they good live?

Thanks 04-19-2007 05:03 PM

I didn't go but some of my friends did and I guess they had fun.

Explosions in the Sky were really great tonight. I know the Post-Rock purists will tell me that they suck or whatever, but they're fantastic at what they do and everything sounds so much better live.

Kyle 04-19-2007 05:36 PM

What's the name of that festival? Looks pretty hot.

Oh yeah I listened to a Sweedish band the other day. Suburban Kids with Biblical names, they're cool.

sweboy 04-19-2007 05:59 PM

It's called Accelerator. It's a small two day festival in Stockholm, but they have a much sexier line-up than the big festivals. The ticket price has yet to be revealed though.
hey montana at the risk of sounding creepy how much do you make? because i know St. Pats is looking for people in the kitchen (where i work <.<)
I'm only making $8/hr but as far as mindless, crappy jobs go, it's not so bad.

I have a hospital bill from St. Pat's I stillh aven't paid off. Ugh

The Great Decay 04-19-2007 06:39 PM

Amen to Canadian health care.

Glitterati 04-19-2007 07:37 PM

pikester I will be seeing you at Explosions In The Sky May 5th.

I got all depressed today because I was saying that I'm a lot of like Max Fischer from Rushmore, then I realized I'm just an amalgamation of 1990s pop-culture references and have no individual personality to speak of. I don't know anything about myself and therefore define my life by characters in films I see.

I wrote a blog about it. Then I went into my bathroom and shaved. I started into the mirror for a few minutes then my dad came home and interrupted my thinking.

This is either obvious or ridiculous, but I found it helpful to be okay without thinking. Accepting meditation and not viewing it as a negative void in my personality/thought. Instead, it's a refreshing revitalization of the mind. As I said, this may be either obvious or even ridiculous - but it helped me at one point in my life at least.

oh well nm then (kind of) st. pats pays $7.33 an hour + $.76 if you work after four + $1.06 if you work on weekend. so it ends up being about $9 bucks an hour on weekend and $8.06 on week days.

Robert Crumb 04-20-2007 02:40 PM

I do my best thinking without thinking.

Also: R. Crumb's moment of zen for today: Life is like a pineapple upside down cake; there is no upside, there is no downside but it tastes really good so eat you moron.

perriwinkle 04-20-2007 07:27 PM

i think i might be the only one here who does not like Guided By Voices

i heard Bee Thousand. also the ATHF movie is excellent

I like GBV, but their mid-career stuff is what does best for me. Like Everywhere with Hellicopters. The early lo-fi stuff is good, but they work well with a little bit better production.

br3ad_man 04-21-2007 02:57 AM

Apparently this guy I'm friends with was saying to people that I'm lazy and I just bludge all the time. I was kind of angry at first, but then I realised who gives a ****.

GBV are awesome.

Well_Respected_Man 04-21-2007 11:44 AM

ttp://www.myspace.com/superiouridealhusbands

So I'm looking for Swell Maps on myspace and I find a page with two songs (top two) that I'm sure are not Swell Maps but I actually rather like them. Anybody know the origin?

and yeah i looked up superiouridealhusbands as the page is titled. I got nothing.

Glitterati 04-21-2007 11:48 AM

I went to see Hot Fuzz last night, it was awesome. Except the whole row behind me was taken up by high school-age azns who kept kicking my seat. I considered moving but I didn't get to the theater early so I could get a rough foot massage from the Viet Cong.

Montana 04-21-2007 10:07 PM

I was a volunteer today and helped pick up garbage along the riverbank. I also ate my first veggieburger ever and it was delicious.

bleep_bloop 04-21-2007 10:12 PM

i woke up at 1 and layed around all day

niobium 04-21-2007 10:49 PM

Jammed with some new friends in a garage/bedroom for two hours
Went to a music store with them for an hour
Hiked through the woods with them for two hours

This was a good day

Kayetan 04-21-2007 10:55 PM

I woke up 2, but that was eastern time, so I guess you win. I hate sleeping in saturdays only because I got so little sleep during the week. I don't think I got more than 4 hours of sleep any night this week, and I didn't have a reason for it except for the night I stayed up until 5:30 to write a paper. : /

I always figured veggieburgers would be gross, but they must be good or something. Beef in patty form is my favorite food.

Hiking is nice.

Kayetan 04-21-2007 10:58 PM

Does anyone here know anything about getting me an invite to indietorrents?

niobium 04-22-2007 12:04 AM

i've never even been inside indietorrents, and my knowledge of it predates oink... but srsly if you're not part of oink... oh mah gah *chris farley voice*
