i just got my ticket 2 days ago to see CoB in vancouver

i think the guitaring is the only thing thats dream theater ish but its not 20:00 minute solos there really good though. to me there a mix between Priest and Pantera.

Yeah, it's definately worth it, plus it's all free. :)

Only gripe I have with Dream Theater is they're so BORING live. They barely move, and they seem to just think of music as a 9 to 5 job...they didn't have any emotion in their faces when they played, save for Portney, and he was behind a big ass goddamn drumset.

They don't seem to love what they're doing...

However, they played the greatest setlist I've ever heard a band play, so that more than balances it out.

Dream Theater bores the living sh[SIZE=2]i[/SIZE]t out of me. They're obviously incredible musicians, I'm not doubting that. John Petrucci is quite possibly the most overrated guitarist alive; he can shred, but that's really all I've ever heard him do, aside from basic rhythm stuff. I am one of the few people, however, who doesn't seem to have a problem with LaBrie's voice. The only member of that band who I can truly respect is Myung.

I like dream theater. I've never seen them live though, so I can't comment on that. I only have TOT and Octaviurm(sp?). I like Train of thought much more. I could see them being boring live though. It's great to listen to on CD but there would be no energy live.

On a note of my ever incresing CoB fanboyism. I heard of a band called Sinergy. I guess Alexi is the guitarist? I dl one of their cds. It's not that great. Almost like classic rock. The vocals are I think female and terrible to be nice.

Yeah Kim Goss is Alexi's ex wife, she's not so great. Suicide By My Side isn't a bad album at all, To Hell and Back and Beware the Heavens kinda blow tho.

I'm the same way, man, that's the only thing I hate about them...they have some heavy songs, man, they could at least give a headbang or two :lol: I don't expect them to go all nuts with the solo parts or anything, but they need more stage presence in my opinion.

I've known about them for a while and finally checked them out. I fully agree with you. Simple and boring. I have to hell and back. I mean, its decent but Alexi can do so much better. I hear the bar cords and cords and I think wow thats patheticly simple. Where's the lead? There's not much.

Yep, I expected a lot more out of them with Alexi playing guitar. The same goes for Kyllahulut.

Spit on your grave is a good song though.

Well how are they? I've heard Trivium is a lot faster on the album then live and that their show overall isn't great and if it isn't I'd love to see at least one good show. I still haven't heard any amon armath

Alexi's lyrics are often total bulls[SIZE="2"]hi[/SIZE]t he made up in the studio. He uses his voice as an instrument, not because he really has something to say. Some are good, but most are laughable, and often make no sense.
